If you're travelling the garden route in South Africa, stay at least a night in hog hollow for a truly amazing experience. A gem tucked away just near Plettenberg bay, fantastic accommodation and food, great social atmosphere and just so cozy, you won't want to leave :-)
The rooms / suites were very cosy and comfortable. A fireplace by the corner, breath taking views from the balcony, and comfy beds turned down with hot water bottles at night was lovely. Good night chocolates with a bed time story was an extra nice touch for sure. The food, breakfast and dinner was really good - as a vegetarian, the staff were very accommodating to ensure I didn't go hungry! The communal dinner was a good touch, although anyone preferring to have a private dinner on their own we're also fine to do that. The staff remembering everyone's names was amazing, despite requiring some prompts from the other staff. Xolisa, Jonathan, the bubbly front desk lady whose name escapes me were very polite and friendly!
The only slight downer was that the wi fi didn't work in the rooms, which meant us lounging about the cosy lounges by reception before turning into the bed time story reading and watching the amazing views from our rooms!
Overall, no complaints at all - really amazing stay, best accommodation along the garden route :-)More
