Enjoy the view from the top if the lighthouse and watch the sea birds nesting on the rocks.

Great good value trip with the kids.

Well worth a visit to the Cap Frehel lighthouse. Stunning views from the top of the light house (3 euros charge, children under 12 free). The walks around the lighthouse are very rocky and not suitable for younger children. Parking at the lighthouse is 2 euro.

The lighthouse is modern (post-war) and rather ugly but the views from the headland are worthwhile particularly towards Fort La Latte. There is some birdlife here including nesting Shag and small flocks of Guillemot on the water. Unfortunately these were frequently disturbed by fast moving pleasure craft. Rock Pipits inhabit the heather and we were sung to by a Linnet
You have to pay for the parking and the arrangements for parking are poorly signposted. After we parked some distance away we discovered that you can park at the base of the lighthouse. There used to be a restaurant called La Fauconniere here. It is now closed and no longer in business.

Very windy, be prepared! Great views; very atmospheric. Nice if you come prepared to walk a bit, a hike along the cliffs would be a great way to spend some time. It costs 2EU to get your car into the lot and then 2 or 3 more EU per person to go up the lighthouse.

Well worth a visit, located on the end of a prominent peninsula the lighthouse is still very important for all the ships navigating the English channel. Beautiful rugged coastline with an impressive view.
