It was the only place open on a Sunday evening in Daon but we were delighted by what we found. There was a huge fire roaring in the grate which was very welcoming on a cold April evening and we were please to see that this was used to cook the meats ordered by the diners. There is a simple menu of crepes, galettes and grilled meat so we chose duck breast and lamb chops. These were cooked on the wood fire and were done to perfection with that better than barbecued flavour and were served with frites and salad. We had salmon and terrine as appetisers and finished off with sweet crepes with ice cream. It was a simple enough meal for France but beautifully cooked and was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Well worth a visit.
