A friend recommended that we stay here and when we booked, Paul was kind enough to squeeze us in between two other bookings for a short stay, so we had high expectations.
Unfortunately the accommodation did not live up to them! When we arrived I put our baby down in the entranceway so I could bring in bags. When I picked him up a moment later his hands were filthy with dust. And it didn't stop there.
There was visible dust on most surfaces, which was at least a couple of weeks worth. The cooktop in the kitchen was covered in grease and the floor was dirty. The bathroom in the second bedroom had hair in the bath tub from the previous guest and the other bathroom had thick soap scum on the shower doors and a lot of built up grime and mould around the base of the shower.
In terms of the view, it was not much to look at and you could only see a little bit over the bay across a field and over the trees.
The wifi connection was also woeful and we couldn't really get a signal in our townhouse. When we did, it was very slow and dropped in and out. We raised this with Janice who advised that there were other guests using it. I would have thought they would have accounted for this, knowing that they could have a large number of guests at the accommodation at a time.
We also had a problem with our washing machine, which we fixed, but our request for assistance was not followed up.
This would be a great place for a family to stay if they could rectify the cleaning issues, however we found it bad enough that we wouldn't recommend it to others.
On a positive note, the cafe was lovely.
