This is a great place to stay in a beautiful part of the world. The location of the Cottage is ideal, with stunning views. The cottage itself is extremely well equipped and furnished with style and imagination. Kathleen provided a very warm welcome and was on hand for queries but was never intrusive. A really special place to stay in gorgeous surroundings.

“Real Irish peace and tranquility”
Reviewed 13 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

My wife and I spent 4 nights here, the photo's that Kathleen has taken, do not do the cottage justice.
It is superbly equipped, cannot think of anything extra that you will require.
If you like to be isolated yet within distance of the local town this is the ideal place to rest.
Ballydehob has 1 shop which is also the petrol station, this is a little bit dear but there are 2 restaurants and 8 pubs.
We visited 2 of the pubs, they where very very friendly, had a good chat with the locals and we found we where very welcome.

“Home away from home - beautiful, cosy cottage at the bay”

I don't know how to start telling about this absolutely amazing place. Breathtaking views in a beautiful area! When I first saw the pictures of the cottage, I knew I'd need to stay there. And it was even more beautiful than I thought it would be. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet, farmlands and - of course - the bay.
Inside the cottage, there is love in every detail. It is like a museum, but one in which there is life - just perfect to come in and start to relax and feel like home.
Kathleen was the most lovely host one could imagine, she couldn't make it to our arrival, but she advised another lovely woman to hand over the keys and show us to the cottage. This woman even met with us in the village to show us the way, as the narrow and sometimes adventurous roads to the bay are rather for the brave drivers - but after 10 Minutes you're there and it is really worth the drive.
Kathleen came by two days later to say hello and to make sure that we have everything we need, which was just lovely and never intrusive at all.
About the area: West Cork is great for sports (running, hiking, equestrian, biking, golf,...). In Ballydehob itself, there are a few really great pubs with live music on weekends, and even great restaurants. The tourist office is helpful in order to get information about everything that's going on in the area. The surrounding villages and towns like Skibbereen, Schull and Bantry are beautiful and well worth a visit, too.
The checkout was uncomplicated and the only thing that made us feel bad was that we had to leave this place and even Kathleen.
We hope to be back soon and highly recommend staying at Herons Cove.

“Excellent cottage and view”
Reviewed 21 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This is a very pretty, comfortable and well stocked cottage everything you could possibly need during your stay is here.kathleen our host was so lovely and met us to show us where the cottage was which was a few mins drive outside ballydehob village to an area with stunning views over the bay. This is a great location for touring west cork as is within easy drive to most attractions such as mizen and Sheeps head, Baltimore and the islands and some beautiful coastal towns. I would highly recommend this little gem of a cottage to anyone, with its own waterfront where the fish were jumping if only we,d brought a rod! We spotted seals most days it was very pretty and peaceful.
