“Perfect Holiday Retreat - we will be back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2011

My husband and I stayed here for one week. The accommodation was a beautiful two storey villa, complete with private plunge pool and view. The staff were just gorgeous, helpful and always went the extra mile to please - nothing was a problem and any request was met with a big smile and a genuine desire to help. The resort has a Spa and Restaurant - both excellent (great full body massages!!). If you want to venture out to sightsee or shop, you can hire a private driver - the rates are very reasonable. At the end of a long day it was wonderful to return to this peaceful "oasis" located in the hills. Highly recommended.

Our honeymoon at Villa Zolitude turned out better than we had hoped. This resort lives up to its name, and we found plenty of peace, quiet and privacy, while not missing out on being able to experience the more fun aspects of Phuket.

I've read reviews about how some disliked the distance to various locations, but this is why we stayed here. It's far from Patong Beach, but it's close to Nai Harn Beach - in my opinion a better deal! The free twice-daily shuttle bus (tuk tuk) to Nai Harn is a great equaliser to not being near Patong Beach. We regret not having taken this service until the last two days. Less crowds and more picturesque, at only 15min travel time.

The resort also offers a twice-daily shuttle to a nearby department store and shopping mall.

The staff at VZ are great ambassadors for the people of Phuket, and epitomise Thailand as the land of a thousand smiles. From the friendly garderners to the helpful reception staff and team at their restaurant.

Speaking of the 180 View & Grill Restaurant, the open dining experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner was perfect. Set with the rest of the resort amongst the dense vegetation of the hillside, there was always a cool breeze from the shady trees.

Mosquitoes were not a problem and various forms of repellent are provided. Common sense in covering up and use of windows/lights during various parts of the day help minimise inconvenience.

Built on a rather steep hillside, the resort location provides both views of the vegetation and of the distant bay. As a result of this, roads that service the higher villas zig-zag up the hill and are steep in places. This may pose issues for some guests, however we enjoyed this as an after-dinner walk back to our villa. Either way, the resort provides a door-to-door shuttle service - on demand - between reception, spa, villa and restaurant.

It's hard to think of anything least liked about our stay at VZ. If required to mention anything to this end, I'd have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and point out that the use of motorbikes by staff and tuk-tuks to shuttle guests back and forth between villa and other locations at the resort might detract from chilling out at our private pool.

VZ more than met our desire to get away from it all and still have the opportunity to experience Phuket. I highly recommend this place to couples. Families with teenage children may not appreciate the tranquil location as much.

Room Tip: The villas higher up the hillside obviously have better views, but don't expect to see beach san...

My husband's family and I rented the 4-bedroom villa for 3 nights, and loved every minute of villa time we had.
The pros...
The 4 bedrooms were well-appointed, spacious, and just lovely in design. Bed was comfortable (pillows a little high for my liking but they are long and bolster-shaped - love that!), bathroom huge, airconditioning worked well. There's also a spacious wardrobe and dressing area which just feels luxurious. Common areas - The pool was a decent size for that many people and the common living area and kitchen came in very handy as well. There were very few mosquitoes which I was pleasantly surprised about. Oh and they give you ample bottles of mineral water during your stay so no need to purchase on your own! Love those little thoughtful touches like that.
You must have the tub tim krob dessert at the hotel - super yum and just heaven in a bowl.
Also, the zense spa provided us with a complimentary 60 min massage, with a choice between Thai and oil. I recommend taking the oil massage as the Thai massage was pretty lacklustre. The spa environment though was just breathtaking. Rooms looked out to a calm pool and lush greenery, and it was 'open air' in that the room was separated from the outdoors by a giant black screen only (don't worry though the AC is on the whole time and felt cool and nice). But the decor was just so relaxing and immersive it was definitely the highlight of my zolitude experience.
Lastly, I must commend the staff at zolitude - every one of them were genuinely warm, friendly, and lovely! I have not received such wonderful service in years, and must commend the management as well for making zolitude such a well-run operation.

The cons...
Wish the kitchen was better equipped. Pots, pans and cutlery were enough but the gas stove wasn't working and we only had one induction cooktop to use for 8 of us. Not great for cooking up a proper meal, but if that's not what you want to do then room service will suffice.
Having said that though I felt the quality of the food could be improved - I had better Thai food in Singapore and Bangkok :)

Oh and a little tip - perhaps you should provide sleeping masks for the rooms, because the sunlight was so bright by 7am and the blinds are white, so we could not sleep in even if we tried!

Dear zeezeetop,
Warmest greetings from Villa Zolitude Phuket!
We would like to express our sincere thanks to you for choosing Villa Zolitude, as your choice of accommodation in Phuket. Thank you for taking the time to share your reviews with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed our service, also to hear that our colleagues had made your stay enjoyable. All your comments had been shared with the management.
On a different note, the Thai massage was lacklustre, It was recovered to your satisfaction, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. However, The our Thai massage is not traditional Thai. Since we have a number of foreigner who are not familiarize with traditional Thai massage, therefore our Thai massage is using relaxing stretching and full palm technique instead of using bending or yoga stretching.
Once again, the improving of kitchen equipments, we had installed 2 electric inductions instead of gas stove in our 4 bedroom kitchen as your suggestion. Thank you very much for bringing this matter to our attention.
We all look forward to you having another perfect stay with us in the future.

The staff at zolitude went above and beyond to make our trip special. Rooms were magnificent, the hills are a bit of a climb but good once you've finished the enormous breakfast.
Recommend hiring a motorbike to get around, the front desk can arrange it. Zolitude is quite out of the way so you'll need to get around if you want to explore Phuket.

We booked for 2 nights package which includes Grand Pool Villa accommodation, daily breakfast, candle light dinner, return airport transfer and 90 min spa treatment for couple. Booked direct through their website and paid 23,500 Baht, also paid 2,500 Baht extra for late check out till 9:30pm. I could find cheaper room & breakfast only rate on various booking website but when I included all the extras it comes down pretty much the same. Communication was clear and very prompt during booking process.

We were travelling without kids this time and wanted to finish off our holiday in a private & luxury and it worked very well. Couldn't be happier.

We stayed Millennium Patong prior to Villa Zolitude, and they were flexible enough to pick us up from Patong instead airport. After reading many reviews on TA, I was hoping to get villa on 4th row for the greater view, but we were allocated on 2nd row. At the end I think it's worked better for us. As we were able to walk easily from Villa to rest of the resort without having to ask buggy all the time. View was still great.

Although I had high expectations after reading great reviews and photos, I was blown away when we check into our villa. It's really well set up and truly beautiful place to stay. Big day-bed downstairs with flat screen TV & DVD player, small but private infinity pool, outdoor shower and toilet with extra amenities, counter & chairs for meal/drinks, deck chairs. Upper level is beautiful with magnificent view of Chalong bay. Everything is in high standard and very spacious, walk-in-robe with heaps of hanging space, drawers and personal safe, huge bath tub, 2nd TV with DVD player.
Amenities is very good, they think of everything including bathrobes, slippers, his & her hats, rattan tote bag, mosquito repellent spray & electric repellent, umbrella etc etc.
Tea & coffee, 2 bottles of water, 2 cans of soft drink, 2 cans of beer, 2 cup noodle soup all free and replenished daily.

Breakfast was not the best we ever experienced but pretty good still. Good selection of bread (love sour dough & multigrains) & pastry, fruits, egg station and various hot foods. My husband couldn't find some healthy cereals like "All Bran" or Special K, I told him "why would you want healthy food during holiday? Holiday is time to eat naughty food I reckon. I particularly enjoyed little bit of Korean flavour while I there as they serve Korean Kimchi & Korean flavoured shushi roll for Korean honeymooners. They even offer some of Kimchi for dinner as well. :D

We ate dinner twice at the restaurant both Thai food. We enjoyed their Royal Thai set dinner, ordering one of each set dinner enabled us to taste 8 different dishes and a dessert each. It was delicious and pretty good value at around 500 Baht each. The service was very friendly and efficient.

Our only disappointment was candle light dinner. The setting and concept is great but food was quite average. The first & main course served same time, so main dish was cold when we eat. The steak my husband had was very chewy. Also I had to pay extra 250++ Baht to choose seafood menu, although difference of the price on the menu displayed in the room is only 100++ Baht. It's not the big amount but couldn't fathom.

The library was well equipped with DVDs & books which we borrowed few during our stay. Great free Wi-Fi connections throughout resort.

The manager Buss came around during breakfast time and offered some free activities like simple Thai cooking class, flower arrangement or fruit(vegetable) carving. I took fruit carving session in one afternoon. It was held in the restaurant (egg station to be exact) I was the only participant so it was private lesson. Many cooks and waiters came out to watch and participate as it's their break time. It was great fun.

There are few negatives for some people. The location is not close to beach or shops. Although they provide twice daily free shuttle to Central Festival Shopping center in Phuket town or Beach, it could be bit of hassle to get there and back on set time. If your ideal holiday is spending most time on the beach, shopping or night spot then Villa Zolitude is not for you. Also I would be worried if I stayed with little kids, as they can easily fall off the upper level balcony or edge of the swimming pool.

For us it was perfect place to stay before flying home because we already stayed right next to the beach then centre of the action before checking in to Villa Zolitude for quiet and relaxing time. Highly recommended for romantic relaxing holiday.

I must mention that I really appreciated their surprise watermelon carving for my birthday which was so personal and beautiful. Thank you so much for making our holiday wonderful.

Stayed for 3 nights in the 2 bedroom villa with pool with 3 of my best girl friends. Amazing memories and will definetely be back with my hubby next time!

The pick up from the airport is worth it. Would recommend it, even though its more expensive than the local cab (THB600 if you need the reference). But the peace of mind, ice cold drinks and towels and comfy mini bus was worth it. Takes about 45 min to 1 hour. A little windy so be prepared!

The lobby and view over the Chalong Bay was awe inspiring. The check in process was smooth and personal. Welcome drinks and lots of photos later, we were buggied away to our villa 404.

Read some reviews on the buggies taking long. Throughout our time there, we only experienced that delay once. This was around 11am to 12pm where people were getting checked out. Understandably, the buggies took sometime. So try to avoid that and you will be fine!

The breakfast spread was reasonable and had variations, egg station and lots of patries and bread. Ala Carte food spread at lunch and dinner was great too. With Thai, Asian, Western and even Japanese!

The room itself was amazing! We were on the top "floor" and the views from every room were amazing. Very well maintained and well kept. Thoughtful decor and luxurious sheets. Some ageing and mildew in the bath were spotted but I think thats to be expected in the climate. All other amenities that you would expect from a great hotel were found. Can drinks and beer replaced every day, with cup noodles too. One flaw was in our "smaller" room, the ceiling fan over the bed was blocked by runners hanging over (part of the decor) and hence no wind got through! The bed spread was also rather thick for phuket weather and the combination meant it got a bit warm at night. Another thing I noticed was that the water pressure would fluctuate suddenly and the water got really hot quickly! The pool was a lovely infinity pool with "bar" area downstairs. Its one of those places where the website pics are accurate!

Lots and lots of insects though! They thoughtfully provide some citronella spray and insect repellant. had some cockroaches and even a tree snake! The staff were so nice to come out and "save" us girls from the bugs! There is a great DVD library with some recent movies and lots of books and games as well.

Location wise, it is at least half hour away from anything and the nearest convenience store (family mart, not the local minimart) but the solitude and privacy is worth it! especially for couples or busy execs who want a breather from the hustle and bustle of work etc.

All in all, the service is the most impeccable and classic thai hospitality. All smiles and prompt agreeableness. Free Wifi available throughout the villa!

Would recommend this to all ! I will definetely be back.

Room Tip: higher numbers and higher floor = better view
