Just arrived home from a night in Danny Minnies, having not been there for 15 years. Still wonderful, fabulous dinner and more than fabulous breakfast. Quirky room and nice not to have a T.V. Staff were very friendly. Was a little noisy late on as there was a birthday party in full swing and they were unaware how noisy they were on leaving. Our room was at the front and the window was open as it was warm, so I think I will request a room at the back next time. This could have happened anywhere and did not detract from our stay. We will be back, soon hopefully!

We went here after hearing great things about it from friends and family. On arrival we were ignored by 2 staff behind the bar whilst they looked and giggled at something on Google. Eventually when they finished entertaining themselves we were seated in the bar where we have a glass of Champange. We were given the menus here and our orders were taken. We were then moved to our table in the restaurant and within 30 seconds of our bums hitting the seats our starters were delivered. I had scallops and my wife had crab. The scallops were over cooked and had little flavour, however the crab my wife had was delicious. Starters cleared and within 1 minute the mains were in front of us - this is a pet hate of mine. the restaurant was not busy there was no need to rush us.The mains were mediocre, but got a great selection of veg and potatoes. My main plate was dressed exactly the same as my starter - this is always a sign of no great skill in the kitchen.

The dessert was great, although delivered at the same lightening speed as the other 2 courses, it was a saving grace for them. Strawberry meringue - lovely!!

3 courses each with 2 bottles of wine was €183. Expensive for what it was - i thought.

Overall, we would not go back as for less money you have better quality food close by in the Skippers in Burtonport.

Really enjoyed our recent meal at Danny Minnies. Had stayed there before and loved their breakfasts!! The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely.
On arrival at our table we were offered 3 different types of bread and they were gorgeous. Our 3 courses were much enjoyed. My husband had the leek & potato soup; lamb and then pannacotta, while I had the melon which was beautifully presented and very refreshing; steak & chewy meringue (not like those chalky meringue nests) served with apple sorbet. All yummy!!
We will definitely be back.

Hi we were on holidays in Donegal in the Dungloe Area and a friend from Belfast had recommended this restaurant. It could not have been better. The service, ambiance, food and staff were all wonderful. It is relatively expensive but because of the quality of what we were getting we went back twice and were equally impressed the second time around. The meal for two adults and two children came to around £120 euro but this is the point we have spent half as much on dining out where we may as well have thrown the money away it was that bad. The bottom line is that while as customer we wish to get good value we prize the overall experience more than the actual costs hence that is why we went back twice and would again. Very family friendly also and could not recommend highly enough. Restaurants like this always make me proud to be Irish to show what the Irish can do well particularly in the south of Ireland. Will be back. Oliver

We ate here recently to celebrate a birthday & Danny Minnie's made it a memorable occasion!
From the minute we entered, the service was outstanding, the manner of the staff is professional yet friendly and they give you their utmost attention.
The food at €39 per head for four courses is well priced for the standard of food and the setting. The fact that they use all local produce is a major plus in my book! The Seafood Chowder was the BEST I have ever tried! I would have liked more veg with the Mains, it was delish. The Wine was lovely too, good choice.
Danny Minnie's well done - you are a jewel in Donegal!
