We stayed at Moorfield last weekend and had a great holiday. From our arrival until our departure , our hosts Ginny and Neil could not do more to make us feel welcome or help with recommending restaurants, even organising taxis also.
The quality of our suite, with sunken double jacuzzi bath, could not be faulted. It was certainly five star. With Lough Swilly in the distance, the gardens at the front and the rear of the property, and the electric gates , blend in like a small private estate. Unfortunately the Donegal weather did not allow us onto the front or rear decks to fully appreciate the views, but the floor to ceiling windows on all front and rear of the suite helped us appreciate the surroundings.
Breakfast was excellent. We don`t normally stay b&b ,and were surprised that there was a breakfast menu! Yes this accomodation is not cheap, but it is great value for this quality. Truly it is a boutique destination and we would highly recommend it for a special event, or just a wee treat. Go on, push the boat out. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Choose the spa suite, ideal for a special occasion

This beautifully designed, modern building is the home of Ginny and Neil who gave us a great welcome. Our room was large, comfortable, beautifully appointed with a view down to Lough Swilly. We were given all the information we needed to find a place to dine and to see us off in the right direction the next morning after a superb breakfast. Five stars is hardly enough for this gem.

Room Tip: All the rooms are superb.

My partner and myself stayed at Moorfield Lodge for two nights in June and were blown away! The house itself is ultra-modern with loads of glass so everywhere feels bright, with great views out over the countryside. As well as beautiful, the location is peaceful and quiet. Ginny and Neil were really friendly, helpful hosts and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We stayed in the spa suite which in addition to the huge bedroom had a massive bathroom with sunken jacuzzi bath - very luxurious! The breakfasts were delicious and offered some slightly different options as well as the standard cooked breakfast which was great - Ginny's granola with yoghurt and fruit coulis was delicious (don't miss it!!)

We will definitely be back and would recommend it to anybody who wants to treat themselves to a luxurious couple of nights in Donegal.

Had a lovely night stay, perfectly located for exploring North Donegal and its beautiful scenery! The Breakfast was gorgeous especially the crepes! Ginny is a great hostess and was very helpful with advice on restaurants and places to visit. The scenery from the B&B itself is amazing.

We had been looking through many hotels for a break to celebrate our wedding anniversary and accidently came across the Moorfield lodge it looked amazing in the photographs and it definately is just that and more. Pure luxury, peaceful a place to unwind and relax. We stayed in the spa suite for 2 nights which is a huge room with walk in wardrobe , a sauna and all the extras that is needed to make your stay a pleasant one...We were both made feel very welcome Ginny also emailed ourselves a few days before our arrival checking out dietary needs reservations or anything at all that we required before our arrival and stay.We ate at the silver tassie which is beautiful for food. We had a choice for our breakfast and i have to say Ginny you have to share your grandmothers recipe of banana bread it was delicious never tasted nicer!!. You will leave with a well filled tummy our breakfast was amazing prepared by Ginny with the help of her lovely niece Brigid (and Maggie the friendly chocolate labrador dog).....it was a pleasure to stay with yourselves you couldn't have done more to accomodate us we appreciate it all keep up the good work!!!! wishing you all health and happiness in your modern gem!!!! hope to return again

Room Tip: im sure all rooms are as comfortable as the spa suite but for the extra room or that special occasio...

Moorfield was easily the most relaxing place we laid our heads while on a 10 day trip to Ireland. The views are spectacular, the rooms modern luxury, and the crepes delicious! Moorfield was just a short drive to town with some great options for food and drinks as well as fantastic music. Ginny was so gracious and welcoming, assisting with everything from doorstep directions (we had a little gps trouble) to recommendations for dinner. Highly recommend you book with Moorfield, whether you're staying while or even just passing through.
