This 3 bed-roomed cottage (upstairs bed x 2 ensuite) is very spacious & comfortable. Also disabled friendly with a ramp to access the property & a downstairs bedroom & separate wet room.

Another big plus is it is dog friendly, our dog had a great time.

Lounge is light & airy with nice views overlooking the mountains. We watched a spectacular sunset one evening with beautiful pinks & reds.
Wood burner in the lounge & also oil fired central heating.

The kitchen has ample cooking & eating utensils, electric cooker & oven, dishwasher & fridge/freezer.

Utility room equipped with a micro-wave, washing-machine, iron & ironing board.

Maps & brochures with lots of local information is available to peruse.

Ample off road parking.

Good Wifi.

Barry, John & Ita were very friendly & helpful. Barry popped in a couple of times to check that everything was ok.

We were there when the Ramelton Festival was on & it was good fun.

Exit house right & then left to Ramelton, a couple of minutes away.

The house is set in a good location for exploring the Fanad peninsula including Fanad Lighthouse, Portsalon & Rathmullan. Letterkenny is a short drive away & Glenveagh National Park is within a 30 min drive.

“Beautiful cottage, home from home”

Just spent a week in Hedgerow Cottage and it's been absolutely amazing.
The cottage is set in a beautiful peaceful location, close to Ramelton and a short drive to Letterkenny.

The warm cosy cottage was more than we expected, very spacious, very clean and well equipped. We were most impressed with the large family kitchen that really did contain everything we needed including a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There was also a big dining table all set ready for us. The living room was very comfortable in the evenings, plenty of seating and the fire had been set ready for us should we have needed it. There are 3 bedrooms in the cottage 2 good size doubles upstairs (both with ensuite bathrooms) and a single one downstairs with a separate wet room ideal for anyone with limited mobility.

Barry and John were really lovely, very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them.

All in all we would highly recommend staying at this cottage and holidaying in this area of Donegal. We had a very relaxed week, in a lovely, comfy house that was like home from home, what more could you ask for. Thank you Barry & John, We will definitely be back.

“Excellent cottage”

My husband and myself with two friends from the USA spent a week in this cottage 23rd-30th April 2016. We found the cottage on our arrival well prepared for guests with the table set in the kitchen and fresh flowers. Everything was as promised and all mod cons in working order (not always the case in past rentals) microwave, cooker, fridge, dish washer, washing machine etc...kitchen fully equipped with all necessary utensils.
The two upstairs bedrooms are large with bathrooms ensuite and the downstairs bedroom has an unattached wetroom. Logs, coal etc.. provided for the stove in the sitting room which was very cosy on the few evenings we had cooler weather.

The cottage is in a quiet area only a couple of miles from Ramelton where there is a supermarket, bars and restaurant.

Although the cottage is still called "the Thatch" - since renovation it no longer has a thatched roof but this had no impact on our stay! Maybe the photo of the cottage needs updating and a new name. The owners Barry and John were very welcoming and helpful. So I'm sure they will see to this in time.

The cost of the week was very reasonable particularly as the heating etc.. was all included.

We all enjoyed our stay and would hope to return again some day.

“A wonderfully comfortable and cosy cottage”

This cottage is very comfortable, warm and spacious. It has everything that you could ever possibly need for a self-catering holiday. We thought that the attention to detail by the very welcoming hosts was very impressive. The cottage has a lovely warm stove in the living room and a very well-equipped kitchen with utility room. The bedrooms upstairs each have their own ensuite and the single bedroom downstairs has access to the wheelchair accessible shower room which is just off the kitchen/utility.

An ideal spot for a holiday base from which to explore Donegal's beautiful beaches and scenery.
