Stayed here on a Groupon deal 2 weeks ago . We loved the hotel , such friendly staff , good food served by caring staff . Great breakfast from the ample hot and cold buffet , French toast was a nice addition to the normal choices. Our bedroom was clean , double and single beds , bath & shower . Good size with a lovely view of the mountain at the front . This is also a great location , beaches so beautiful all around the coast . Pollon beach 5 mins away is so handy . Give Nancy's Barn a try for lunch , really nice food in a quaint building . Food is great in the hotel but if you want to go out I would recommend Ballyliffin Golf Club, eat in the bar ,lovely views over the course or eat in the restaurant . Food is so good and great value . We will be back here again , give it a try it really is great .

Room Tip: Get a room looking out to the Main Street , nice view !

We booked a Groupon offer at this hotel and had a lovely time. We had a large room, clean, with a comfortable bed, and excellent room service. We ate in the hotel on both evenings, one dinner being included in a very competitive price for a two night midweek stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming and there are lots of lovely local walks. TV reception was not good - who goes away to watch telly? In spite of the difficult times for the hospitality industry, the hotel was busy with a noticeable 'buzz', so well done!!

Stayed at hotel booked through Groupon. Looked pleasant from outside and reception area was good. On entering bedroom the holiday atmosphere vanished. Having booked a double room we found a double bed and two singles with an ancient tv with a poor selection of channels. My wife asked about a change of room at reception. We were offered the room immediately above which gave a more elevated view of the felt roof adorned with cigarette butts, cables and ducting. We were shown a further room which was tiny, sporting an ancient portable tv. To be fair staff were very friendly and our meal from a very limited menu was good. We stayed one night but did not bother to unpack. We chose to leave after breakfast having stayed only one of the two booked nights. This hotel has great staff but is sadly let down by its bedrooms.

Sadly our first experience was of drunken children and youths looking like they wanted to fight as we arrived during a wedding party that dominated the hotel and especially the bar. There are children running riot here most of the time during our stay and it seems little parental control in many cases. The staff are lovely and the late night entertainment in the bar was superb - an amazing singer. The set menu isn't inspiring but the steaks on the A la Carte are among the best I have ever had both in quality and taste. The breakfast was a good buffet with good quality produce. All the usual mistakes of only white bread and sadly no black or white pudding! The bed was very comfy, bedroom and bathroom basic but lots of extra comforts like towels and pillows, tea making facilities etc. The staff really can't do enough for you and are all very competent and very sweet but check if they have a wedding on and steer clear if they do. Really hearty, wholesome and well cooked food in the bar and they pull a great Guinness!

A nice hotel with lovely staff sadly ruined by out of control children running around the restaurant. Wedding party spilled into the guest bar and got horribly drunk. Very threatening environment. Great live music provided some respite later in the evening. Rooms small and not a hint of luxury. Tired bathroom and paper thin walls - which is fine of you want to hear what your neighbour is up to - in graphic detail!!! If we weren't on a groupon would have asked for our money back. We even considered checking out and going to Ballyliffin Lodge Spa. Restaurant was basic with little refinery, staff were lovely, and food was delicious. Nice breakfast too.
