“Not a Dublin hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013 via mobile

Thought this was closer to Dublin. Room ok but disturbance from the motorway outside my window. If booking ask for a room looking into the car park.

Food good, staff good. 10km from Drogheda and 40km from Dublin. A bit of a maze to get in and out of.

Nothing around only factories so you will be stranded for the night.

Dear Guest
thank you so much for taking the time to contribute a review. We are delighted that you found our food and staff to be good. Our location just off exit 7 of the M1 is really convenient for the airport and Dublin city centre - which is just 20 minutes away via the port tunnel.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another visit.

Kind regards

Sorry for the delay in this review. We were a part of 4 adults and two children and had the pleasure of staying here on the Saturday night of the October bank holiday weekend. This hotel is a hidden gem. As we were on a getaway break we had dinner included which was absolutely fabulous. Will definitely return many thanks for the kind hospitality

Stayed for a weekend seminar, great hotel staff, very friendly and a general nice atmosphere within the hotel.
The restaurant does close around 21:00 - 21:30 which is a bit early especially since they cater to a lot of business travellers.
Personally though I would go back.

Room Tip: Choose room over looking car park preferably on the 6th floor, as you do not want to be looking out...

I was pleasantly surprised by this Hotel. It doesn't look very impressive from the outside and I expected the usual cold businesslike hotel located beside the motorway but when I walked through the doors I was immediately greeted by a warm, cosy yet luxurious reception area and an even warmer welcome from the Receptionist Joanne, who couldn't have done more for us during our stay. She made the difference between just walking away happy and walking away knowing I'll go through the trouble of writing a review. The food in the bar area was really really nice and again it was a lovely comfortable space. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Dear Guest
so delighed that your stay was so enjoyable. Your comments are so true - the exterior of our hotel does not wholly relfect the warm, contemporary, spacious interior within.

Also really pleased that Joanne gave you the CityNorth welcome. We have passed on your kind comments to her. Lovely comments re the food also passed onto our Head Chef and his team.

We are so very much hoping to welcome you again very soon.

I regularly attend a conference at this hotel and have never been overly impressed. The choice of food is not good, and the staff are very unhelpful. I have waited over 30mins for food which was featured on the carvery menu, and was not even offered an apology from the staff. This is a regular occurrence.

I called up recently to book in for a night to save me driving and spoke to the rudest receptionist I have ever come in contact with. She first tried to convince me that the conference was not on the night I was booking so was unable to get the special rate (that we had been told was available). She basically told me that she was "So Busy" and that the information I was giving her showed no conference. Too many of her sentences started with "Do you understand ...". She did eventually find that the conference was on (surprise, surprise) but instead of apologising, she continued to be rude. She wanted me to provide even more information, but after already spending 5 minutes listening to her being rude I had enough. I told her she was being unhelpful and I would not require accommodation. This led to a tirade of what I can only call abuse which I promptly hung up on. What disgusting behaviour from front of house staff.

It seems that this hotel is simply relying on the passing through trade, and see no need to put any value on good customer service. This is a pity as the hotel itself is quite nice and if fronted by the right people would be a nice place to stay.

Stayed here one night on business. Great staff, great service, great rooms, great food.....and all at a bargain price. Perfect location also if travelling north/south right next to the motorway. Brilliant!

Just stayed at this hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent and welcoming. The room was great with plenty of space and facilities. We stayed on a deal booked through Living Social which was terrific value, the receptionist when booking was excellent and fully explained everything about this hotel and the exact location. This hotel is terrific and we were really pleased with the service, cleanliness and overall presentation of it. The hotel is about 30 minutes outside Dublin. Drogheda is close by and has good shopping and restaurants to keep you going through the day. We went to Dublin and were surprised by the car parking prices (4 Euro per hour in some places). Will go back to this hotel but wont go into Dublin itself. This hotel would be excellent for staying before travelling from Dublin Airport. A special mention must also go to the staff at breakfast time and the quality of food, which was beautiful. The food at the Tara Lounge was was exceptional and the service also very good. Overall an excellent stay and well worth the money. An added bonus is the free secure car parking.

Room Tip: This hotel caters for couples and families alike, I dont think there is anything you could request t...
