Would highly recommend the carraig hotel, rooms are lovely, spacious and clean. The staff are excellent and friendly.didnt have the food during our stay but it looked amazing as it was served up in the bar. Parking straight across the road at only €2 on exit of car park.would defiently stay again in the near future, well worth a visit.

I have stayed at the Carraig Hotel at least once a year for the last 15 years and cannot recommend highly enough. Each time i visit its the same friendly faces which is a testament to the management.
The rooms are quite basic but clean and the showers are mighty powerful.. something one may need if finishing the evening in the beautiful bar downstairs. The food here is excellent too and Jackie does the best breakfast in Ireland i reckon. Carrick is also a great place to explore from so you have mountains, fishing ,golf all minutes away. Its heaven down there. Anyway booking next years trip as we speak . Enjoy the extremely reasonably priced Carraig and have the craic !!

Stayed here with my husband 1 night during the weekend. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the bar has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious ! Our room was tastefully decorated & clean. It was fully equipped with a fan, toiletries & a well stocked tea/coffee facilities. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are travelling to Carrick -On-Suir

Third time hotel resident in this lovely perfectly central hotel in the little town of Carrick-on-Suir. The welcome is second to none, the staff are excellent. The rooms are very well appointed and spacious and the hotel looks even better following a refurbishment within the last 2/3 years.

The food is excellent which is probably the reason it is very well frequented by non residents who come to enjoy eating here throughout the day and the Bar is very well appointed also with a number of large TV screens covering either News or Sports events but not so loud that you cannot have a conversation or read a newspaper in peace !!.

The hotel is clearly well regarded in the town as it seems just about every major event in the town is held there from Weddings to major social functions, and with all great Irish bars there is regular great and varied music in the Bar at the weekends.the hotel does not have its own car park but across the road there is a public car park which is barrier and CCTV controlled and charges 2 euro for whatever length of stay in the car park. It advertises 2 euro a day. Thing to remember is the hotel sits perfectly on the Main Street which is one way so it may be best to park first and then walk the nano second to the hotel. If there is an available Pay and Display space directly outside the hotel by all means use it to unload luggage and book in as you will have 20 mins free parking but should you want to stay there you will have to pay for longer parking or drive around the town in a one way direction to get to the more convenient public car park. It is truly no hassle at all.

A couple of things which prevent this cracking hotel getting five stars on this occasion is the rooms would benefit from a small fridge and the room I stayed in it his time was to the rear of the hotel which overlooked a neighbouring electrical business which used their rear yard as a dumping ground for old household and other electrical appliances so not the best view and not the hotels fault either but it is a matter of fact. Also the room was right above the main function room which is by the way absolutely stunning and very well appointed so whenever their is a musical social event you will hear the noise and it can as it did for with their "Thursday social dancing " night kept me awake until 12 30 pm. That being said none of these in themselves would deter me from staying here again in the future . A really great Hotel.

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights for my uncle's 80th birthday party and had a great time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until the minute we left. The rooms were spotless, with comfortable beds and clean linen.
Only downside were the small bath towels, as I'm used to a bath sheet, but they were perfectly adequate.
The town is small, but with a nice walk down by the river and a variety of pubs and places to eat, if you fancied a change. The food in the hotel, was however superb and plentiful. Definitely going back next year.

Room Tip: We booked a twin room, but were given one with a double and a single bed at no extra cost. The room didn't have a view, but you could go outside for that.
