“Very good value”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

Very good directions in their welcoming email. Excellent hosts. Excellent breakfast. Home made brown bread. Organic eggs from their own hens. Their own water from a spring. Don't think you will get better value any where else.

Clare made us very welcome on our arrival. Our bedroom was at the front of the property, no traffic noise was heard. The bedroom was spacious, but only had a small TV high in the corner of the room. The bathroom was very small, my husband is 6ft and struggled to sit on the toilet, without opening the shower door for leg space.
The breakfasts we had were lovely, and we were seated with a view of the lovely garden, and were able to watch the visiting birds on the bird table.
Clare let us collect the eggs from the chickens in the grounds too.
There is a lovely lounge area with a big choice of books, mags, dvd's etc.

We stayed for a week just after Christmas, and had another pleasant stay after spending time here in August. As everyone says, Clare and Colin are wonderful, and are very accommodating. The rooms are clean, breakfast is varied and excellent. Handy for the Rosslare ferry, and an ideal spot for touring around Wexford, as Clare herself says, no-one has missed the ferry yet!
Nicola will be visiting again in March, we would not bother to look for anywhere else!

Just as good as the first time.
I stayed at Killuran Lodge in April and once again all was as it should be. Again breakfast was great. I had a different room as Clare had a wedding party staying and kept me away from them as I'd an early rise. Very thoughtful. Perfect hostess.
Again I loved the bathrooms and ... the giant towels!!!

Hospitable hosts thought through every detail, from clearly visible road signs to small tasty cakes which await you upon arrival. You don't have to drag you baggage up, because the guest rooms are on the ground floor (the second one is occupied by the hosts). Breakfast variety includes ecological products. Their scrambled eggs with pork, fried mushrooms, tomatoes and beans (those who don't eat pork get smoked salmon instead) are so nutritious that you forget about snacks until late evening. A quiet, pastoral site with apple and cherry garden and grass lawn with cypress trees which you don't want to leave. Clare and Collin make an unforgettable, friendly climate, are always ready to help. Sure to stay there on our next trip to Ireland!

Collin and Claire were very accommodating to us. They allowed us to check in early so we could rest after our overnight flight from the states. They had a snack of lemon muffins with a bottle of cold spring water waiting in our room upon arrival. After a nap we were ready to do some sightseeing. Thinking it was too late to see the Irish National Heritage Park, we spoke to Collin who encouraged us to go in and see it that afternoon. We had plenty of time and it got our Ireland trip off to a perfect start. The tour of the INHP gave us a better understanding of Irish history from the stone age up.

Our room at Killurin Lodge was clean and quiet. This is the only place we stayed that I saw chickens in the yard--but no roosters to wake everyone up! Breakfast was hot and tasty and very filling. Claire gave us several tips for our next day. I am sorry that we could not make the seafood festival at Kilmore Quay, but our itinerary was pretty tight. We did go on to see the Dunbrody famine ship at New Ross, which was a moving experience.

Killurin Lodge looks like it us away in the country but it is really near Wexford and New Ross. We had no trouble finding it. The only drawback is finding a place for dinner, but it was easy to go on into Wexford after the INHP and there are many nice eateries in Wexford.

For once I can luxuriate in telling the world of another (other than our own) B&B that is mindful of people who are not into big meaty fries first thing in the morning.
This was a great breakfast - starting with a good selection of cereal, porridge, fruit and excellent yoghurt. Clare had gone to the trouble of sourcing some potato cake for me (a Northerner - we live offa the stuff :-) and made a good pot of fresh strong coffee that along with the rest set me up for what was my second day at bow-making classes in the nearby (7kms) National Heritage Park.
I'll be booking in again in April for the arrow-making and looking forward to the warm welcome and breakfast.
Great massive towels in the bathroom BTW. A joy all in all to stay in Killurin Lodge.

Room Tip: Ask about the WiFi - and read the code - carefully. I didn't took me a while to get in. Mea culp...
