To be frank; this restaurant has ideas about itself above its station and it survives and thrives because this is Ireland, the land of the compliant and uncritical. Then again, they probably fawn over the local celebs when they turn in but for me, I dined a couple of times there and found the food passable, unmemorable and the service, at best, indifferent. One always got the distinct feeling that the owners felt you should be priviliged to be in their establishment and they were doing you the favour rather than the other way round. This type of nonsesne happens too often in Ireland. Do youself a favour and go to Woods and Byrne down the street where the food is better and the owner and staff very friendly and pleasant. Or on to the superb Wicklow Heather in Laragh. On the plus side, the place does have a lovely olde worlde atmsophere. Shame about the delusional, pretentious owners.
