We held our wedding here a few weeks ago and had an amazing day. I will begin with some of the issues we had with the venue, as advice for other couples and not to take away from choosing this hotel as a wedding venue: our main issue was that the colour of our wedding was pink/ coral but we were horrified when we walked into our dining room to orange sashes on all dining chairs, despite sending a picture of the colour we were using and many discussions, we also arranged for a cake to be brought out for my Mams 60th that came out and was plonked beside our wedding cake without giving it to my mam to blow out the candles, even though my husband had double checked that they were ready to go with it, and our last issue was that my mother in law did not have a room to go to when she decided to go to bed, we are still dismayed at how such a thing could have happened.
Despite the above we had a wonderful day and lead up to the wedding. Our first wedding coordinator Tina was brilliant to deal with, she always made us feel at ease with our plans. Leading up to the day we dealt a lot with Ian, who was wonderful, when we were not happy with the first tasting of our main meal, he allowed us to come down again and reassured us the food would be great on the day, it was lovely on the second tasting and even better on the day itself, with many compliments being expressed to us by our guests. Anything we wanted to do with bouncing castle, photos, candles and the likes he made it seem like it was no hassle to them and they were all displayed better than we thought. The venue itself is fabulous, it is exactly what we were looking for, a private country house for just our wedding guests. The rooms and lodges were beautiful and very comfortable. The staff were superb, which again was communicated to us by quiet a few guests, the service during the meal seemed to run very smoothly, the next morning some guests arrived late for breakfast with staff taking orders from them and not charging anything extra. The problems we had were not noticed by our guests but upset us because we had put a lot of thought into our wedding and for the colour to be wrong at the venue was very disappointing. As a whole we had a great day and would recommend this hotel as a wedding venue.
