Italy Country Stay is one of those places that make you feel as if you were meant to be nowhere else. The people are so welcoming, especially Anna, and the breakfasts she prepares in the mornings on the terrace are quite special. There are so many things to do to fit every agenda from hiking to horseback riding to just unwinding with a book and an incredible view on the terrace. This is genuinely the best place we stayed during our entire trip! I could not recommend it more highly and hope to visit again soon...

I loved my stay at Italy Country Stay. I traveled around France and Italy for three weeks in May and this was by far my favorite place. The staff is lovely and the place is charming. The B&B is affiliated with a larger place, Italy Farm Stay, which is down the road, so there are plenty of activities to participate in, like horseback riding, hiking, cooking classes, or going to watch a shepherd make cheese. Or you can just relax and take in the countryside. Not many tourists get to this part of Italy, so you get to really experience Italy here. Go to the market in town on Thursday. Try your Italian with the sweet neighbors. Like I said, I loved my stay there and I will always want to be back there in that moment.

Via Piana is a small Bed & Breakfast located near Sora, Italy. Some of the buildings are still being renovated, but the old buildings have a wonderful layout and a great atmosphere. The restored buildings combine modern comforts with rustic style. The host, Anna, is sweet and very considerate. She made sure that I had an enjoyable experience, and she really cares about her guests.

Via Piana's greatest strength is its location on the edge of the Abruzzo National Park. The region is tremendously beautiful, with opportunities for scenic hikes and other outdoor activities. I have never used the word breathtaking before, but that is how I would describe the views right outside your door. The local community is very rural, so guests can count on seeing lots of farm animals (chickens, goats, sheep, horses, etc.) in addition to the local wildlife. Anna even has some animals of her own, such as chickens who provide fresh eggs daily.

There are lots of opportunities for great food in the area. Anna herself is an excellent chef, even making fresh bread in her brick oven. There are several delicious pizzerias in the area, which are both affordable and generous. Additionally, for a really wonderful experience, Le Grotte Della Locanda is a restaurant in a nearby village (Campoli Appennino) that specializes in truffle dishes. The food is amazing, the decor is rustic and cozy, and the owners come out and greet their guests. Also, it seems like everyone has their own grapevines, so there is a lot of local wine available.

In addition to exploring the area's natural beauty, there are also opportunities to watch a local shepherd make fresh cheese, ride horseback, and visit a local market on Thursdays. The area is fairly untouched by tourism, so guests can count on an authentic Italian experience. Via Piana offers a wonderful opportunity to see a part of Italy that one can't in Rome or another larger city. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
