Geze Gebreselassie is a good middle of the road hotel in a city where finding information about hotels is none too easy. This hotel is located on the main north/south street through the center of town. The hotel is owned by the same people as the Geza Gerlase Restaurant which is on Lonely Planet's map of Adigrat, and is just around the corner from the restaurant (which is on an east/west side street). The location is really central.
The hotel is comparatively new, and is located on the upper floors of a modern commercial building. I do not recall seeing any signage on the exterior. You just go into the building and up the stairs. The rooms are large, fairly basic, but quite adequate. The bathroom also clean, large enough and had hot water. The restaurant in the hotel was serving only breakfast when I was there. It looked like a place where you could hold functions. Dinner was in their own restaurant around the corner on the side street.
The staff were helpful, but communication in English was somewhat limited. It would seem that telephone would be the only way to make an advance reservation. the number is 0344 452 500
For a single room I paid 150Birr/night
