“Perfect island, perfect villa”

We were 3 friends staying at Villa Ilios, initially 4 but one was unable to travel, so for the 3 of us it was perfect - an ensuite bedroom each. It would have been fine with the maximum of 6 staying here also, as it is so spacious. The villa is exactly how it is described. The views over the sea to the mainland in the distance are spectacular. We spent our days lazing by the pool with plenty of sun and shade when needed.
The welcome pack of essentials (water, bread, milk, tea, coffee etc. was indeed welcome.
We didn't hire a car, but Supertravel arranged taxis from Corfu airport to the port, ferry tickets to Paxos and a taxi to the villa from Gaios port. They even arranged for the ferry (Dolphin actually) to wait 15 minutes for us due to a suitcase being lost at the airport!
- so travel was super efficient. On the island we walked south to Mongonisi island, a lovely spot with yachts anchored up with a friendly taverna and good food and drink. (About 30 minutes to walk - and despite other reviews, taxis back to the villa were not a problem.) Other times we walked down to Gaios - again about a 30 minute walk, with a cheap taxi back after eating, drinking, food shopping etc. The choice of restaurants is great - we especially enjoyed Taka Taka. Clothes shops are abundant and the choice again was very good, better than the average in quality (and price).
One evening we took a taxi to Lakka in the north, again full of yachts but with breathtaking views and food to die for.
We didn't do the boat trip round the island and to Anitpaxos - saving that for next time!
We would definitely come back. It is is truly the most relaxing island I have ever been to.
