We were blown away by the beauty of the authentic beach of Kalpitiya. It was one of the highlights of or 3 week trip to Sri Lanka. Very nice is the long stretched beach between the lagoon and the ocean where you can see local people and 3 donkeys living on the beach.
We have started our trip in Sri Lanka in the Ruuk village, great place to relax,chill-out and to adapt to the Sri Lankan way of living! Below the coconut trees, you can save some energy for the continuation of your travel!
We really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff, the lovely Sri Lankan food they made. The dry fish was awesome! Christmas dinner was fantastic!
The founders of Ruukvillage have a great vision about how 'sustaible toursim' should be, we hope they can fullfill there dream and maybe one day we come back...
