I visited Mandara Boutique Resort with my family recently and while the rooms are spacy and comfortable, there was a smell of varnish which was disturbing. It may be that they had just touched up their rooms. Anyhow, the food was not great and the pool had a funny acidic taste. The staff also need to have more training in the service sector....while they were kind, they lacked something! The beach attached to the hotel was very nice and the kids could run around in a safe environment. Anyway, the standard was not worth the price we paid for the rooms. I would say a bit overrated!
