Thank you so much for the warm hospitality. We had an amazing lunch with lots of sri lankan food in it. Fish curry was so delicious. I am sure this
Is one of the best place to take a good vacation who like to watch sunset and whales.

Thank you again.

At first sight, the hotel and the room they showed us seemed ok for staying a night, although staff seemed anxious but quite overstrained, and the hotel all in all is somewhat very run-down. On closer inspection, the room was extremely dearty and uncleaned (sand under the bad, pubic hair on the toilet, beard hair on the linen, just to mention a few), so that we were happy we only had booked for one night. All in all, the 4500 Rupies they charged us for the "semi-luxury double" including breakfast were bad value-for-money.

The missing cleanliness of the place in general and the short glance into the kitchen we could have made us dine outside. Probably also a good decision since a group of young russians partied hard at the pool and restaurant area directly in front of the rooms. The breakfast we took the next morning at the hotel (average, bread and jam, some fruits) did not have any major negative consequences, however.

In a nutshell: If you otherwise have to sleep on the road, its ok. Otherwise move on, Mirissa is a great place to stay, and they offer great places to do so as well.

One star for the direct beach location, one for the good weather.

Room Tip: Other guests chose to relocate to Palm Villa nearby, which seems to be a good place to stay.

I booked a combined package holiday through Shaka Sign Surf, who suggested me this lovely little resort located on the quite end of Mirissa beach, next to a beautiful snorkeling spot and an intermediate reef break.

When I arrived, I was given a warm welcome smile by the in-house manager and served with a melon mixed passion welcome drink, which hit the spot right away. I checked into my room (one of the superior rooms the hotel has). Every room has its private balcony and mine was bigger than the others, with a comfortable bean chair on the balcony. The room had ac, satellite tv, stuff to make my own tea/coffee, attached bath and everything you might want in a luxury room, which is more than fair for the price I paid.

The restaurant is a lovely set-up, both inside one and on the beach, with a pool side bar as well. They probably has the most varied menu on Mirissa beach, with a very good price tag, and my favourite was chef's pumking curry which they served with rice, tuna and few other vegetables.

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a chilled beach holiday, probably combined with surfing and some scubas. Thanks you Sunset Mirissa (and of course Shaka Sign Surf) for hosting a great holiday for me. Would most probably be back next year.

:D

Room Tip: Go for a room with a direct sea view!

Was quite worried about having booked this hotel after reading other reviews, but was pleasantly suprised on arrival. Nicely located on beautiful Mirissa Beach. Stayed for 4 days in March, room very nice and clean but did have to ask for room to be cleaned and sheets and towels changed, but this was done within 10 minutes of asking. Breakfast reasonable but problem with lots of flies and food not covered, but at other times of the day the food was good and reasonably priced. Didnt find the manager grumpy, on talking to him he was quite a pleasant person, he was a bit upset about some previous comments and pointed out that its a guest house and not a hotel. Staff were quite helpful and we were quite happy with a 4 day stay here. The swimming pool although quite small was very enjoyable.

This small hotel is perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. Mirissa beach is great for surfing and swimming and the hotel is situated right on the most beautiful part of the beach. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The staff and owner are super friendly and helpful. There is a small pool. The restaurant is probably the best in Mirissa, with cheap and very well prepared meals. Good, reliable and free WiFi in restaurant/lobby area. I can really recommend this place, and I will definitely go back many times!

Room Tip: All rooms are great. Some noice from nightclub in weekends, but it is the same all over Mirissa.

Outstanding location right on beautiful Mirissa Beach. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Excellent service. Huge selection of local and western meals on the menu. Breakfast is good; toast, omelette, fresh fruit, cerials as well as a couple of local options. Great pool but guests could be better at rinsing off sand from the beach to help keep it clean all day.

Firstly let me start by saying that I never usually write on these but I have been so disappointed by my stay that I felt I really had to warn people about this overpriced badly managed place.
The rooms are very nicely decorated but you would need some ear plugs to make sure you get a good sleep with the noise of the traffic outside.
The manager as stated in earlier posted is very unfriendly and I think he might be actually incapable of smiling.
The level of English of the staff in non-existent in 75% of cases which makes it hard to get any information. The breakfast is awful and you would probably get better in a prison.
Finally what really has got on my nerves was the fact that they want to charge me 9,400 rupees to get a car to the airport when just this morning an English girl and her friend got it for 8,000 rupees.
My advice stay well clear as it wouldn't be worth half the price they charge.

Room Tip: Don't choose any look elsewhere
