“Dolphins, whales, seaturtles and service on 5 hrs trip.”

Whale Watching Danushka
Reviewed 24 January 2014

Leaving the harbour at 7 am on a nice, new and safe boat. Upperdeck (no shoes) sitting on the floor matrasses. Chairs on the deck and lots of space around. Tea was served from the moment we went on board and after leaving the harbour a breakfastbox and a bottle of water for every passenger. Soon after we saw lots of dolphins swimming with us.
And then on a distance the first fountains of water from the whales. Whales coming to the surface and diving back as much as we liked. The last one we saw, showed his tail as a goodbye.
On the way back we saw a couple of drifting seaturtles making love. Turning on the current of the ocean. A beautiful view and hope for the turtle-future.
All 8 young children on board got seasick, so not a trip for too young children. We loved it. Cees and Theo

Danushka and his crew are extremely professional and organized. We had a wonderful trip exploring the open seas with his team. We saw Bryde Whales and Blue Whales, and at the last minute, we saw a Tiger Shark. It is a great activity while we were staying in Mirissa, and it is clear that Danushka wants to ensure that the tourists have a positive experience. The trip was long, but it was because Danushka was determined for us to find Blue Whales (which we did!). So instead of turning around after seeing the first Bryde Whales, we kept going. Great time!

Good job they did! 5 hours at sea, the only boat that went far away behind the intercontinental packboat track so that we saw 3 whales from 2 different kinds. Danushka explained the 2 species with photographs. On the way back we crossed a large dolphin group: lots of funny movements while swimming alongside the boat. Boat was full but not overcrowded: good views with respect for distance towards the whales. Good breakfast served which was included. At the start medication for sea sickness was offerend.
Start was 07.00 hours finish was 12.00 hours. It was expensive but I enjoyed every minute of it!!

A few weeks ago I went to watch whales with danushka and his brothers. It was very successful and me and my friends were happy with the sights and views we got. I believe our boat got the best shots among the others.

Good service and nice people!

This morning we took a whale watching trip, full of hope that we would see whales. Of course there is no guarantee, and we understood that. Fortunately we DID see whales -- right whales (including a mom and baby) and a sperm whale in the distance -- and dolphins and a lone sea turtle paddling for shore. The crew were magnificent, making sure that each person was alerted to the whales, pointing and helping us all see them. They are eagle-eyed, picking up on such subtle little cues they could say that a whale was coming, before I could even see what little thing they were picking up on. They were warm and friendly, and seemed genuinely to want their passengers to have a wonderful time. We were given a light breakfast (a cheese sandwich, a slice of exquisitely sweet pineapple and a banana, and a bottle of water), and then later another banana and some very nice crackers, and on the way back a bottle of mango juice, very cold. Although our whole purpose, of course, was to see whales, the crew helped make the trip a very special one, and we will always remember it. Thanks for such a lovely trip!
