“Don't expect too much”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

It is certainly a beautiful place and the cottages are very spacious and private. Perhaps the usual chef was away during our stay. The service was absolutely shocking - we are very used to Caribbean style but we never received our aperitif before any dinner and frequently had to ask for things two or three times. We were extremely disappointed by the quality of the food. Great lobster from the beach bar but everything else was definitely not five star. We returned three bottles of corked wine and the breakfast coffee was completely undrinkable. There was a coffee machine so we just made our own after day one. The extras were also very expensive.
Yoga was excellent and so was the spa. It is quite rustic but the therapists were first class.
There are lots of things to do but no one discussed any options with us which was a shame.
It is worth noting that there is no pool. Not too much of an issue as the beach is good for swimming unless you like to do lengths.
PSV portrays itself as a super bare foot luxury private island but unfortunately, basis our stay, it still has a long way to go achieve this.

Our 8th time on PSV and it just get's better! When you imagined it couldn't get any better, it has. The new owner has done wonderful things to improve the island without in any way spoiling the integrity of such a beautiful place. If you want peace, tranquility, the most beautiful setting & fabulous service, this is the place to be. Just don't get too annoyed when you see another's footprint in the sand - it doesn't happen very often, which makes it feel like one is on one's own private island! If you do need to be a bit more sociable, you will find the beach bar great fun with fabulous food served all day. Also,at the main bar and restaurant, you will receive a very warm welcome (& an expertly shaken martini) together with wonderful cuisine.

We stayed for our honeymoon and will be back a simply beautiful place, as relaxing as can be with great food and fabulous staff. The rooms could perhaps do with aircon rather than fans but it's a minor point.

The history explains it all! The cottages built before AC are on the windward side with the trade winds to deal with . The calmer west side offers retreats. A new owner dropped a ton of upgrades and $ into the rooms and Beach Bar. If you started from scratch things might have been set up differently, but incredible character everywhere. The Island was full during our stay but appeared empty. The staff look after you regardless of where you are or want to go. We were driven to a Cabaña on the West Beach where there was a hut, towels, water, ice, lounge chairs and tables. We put a note in the slot and coffee and fruit appeared. Another note and two drinks appeared. Another note got us taken to the Beach bar where the leftovers of our chilled bottle of white wine were waiting to be enjoyed with the lobster chosen out of the tank. After that a ride to the room and then the Spa. Tough to take. interesting that everyone pays the same price. But then, everyone gets treated equally. You can meet people or not at your choice. From the owner through guests everyone we met was truly friendly and down to earth. No one goes there to prove anything, they go there to enjoy it. We ate breakfast on our patio every morning, lunch at the Beach Bar and enjoyed evenings at the beach Bar. Of course you can eat in your room. We also saw one couple with the same lunch with a chilled bottle of wine at a Beach Cabaña. One night the owners of Tuscany's Casanova Winery were there for a private tasting. Other than Spa Treatments, Excursions and Alcohol all is really included. We especially recommend the resort charter out of Barbados. On arrival you are met, give your luggage tags to the rep and go to the In Transit lounge. All is looked after. On the return you are met, your luggage collected and then you are escorted to your Airline check in. After that it is unfortunately back to reality!

Room Tip: Rooms at the centre of the beach have less wind. Every room, Table and Cabana have their good and ba...

I am always a bit sceptical about 5* ratings on TA - surely nowhere can be perfect. Well, if you want peace and quiet and a bit of luxury it's difficult to know how PSV could be beaten.

The accommodation, setting, service and food were outstanding. It exceeded our best expectations and we won't hesitate to go back one day.

The only risk in recommending PSV is that lots of people will want to go there - I want to keep it to ourselves!

Room Tip: You need to be pretty agile to walk to some of the cottages furthest away from the lodge, but you wi...

We arrived in Saint Lucia, and are immediatey greeted by a lovely man, letting us skip the whole que for customs, so we can get to PSV as quickly as possible. We collected our bags, and our private 5-seater plane is already waiting for us. After a half an hour plane journey over beautiful islands and ocean, we arrived at Union. Our bags were taken to the boat for us. As you draw near PSV, you can just sense the beauty and calmness of it. Upon arrival, you are offered complimentary fruit punches. You are shown to your room, and given a free bottle of champagne, and of course, a box of chocolates. The service is wonderful. The people that work there are so nice and if you need something, they will go and get it immediately. The beach cottages are a bit breezy, bu that means you don't need to have the air conditioning on, which is great. The island is filled with wildlife, like small snakes and lizards, and if you want, you come climb marni hill, to get a wonderful view over the island. I truly recommend it there, and if you want privacy, scenery and delicous food, this is the place for you! (If you want waves, go to the west beach. everywhere else is calm.) Zac Williams

Room Tip: Cottages 6,7,8,9,10 and 11 are double cottages on the beach, 12,13,14,15,16,,17,18,19 are all beach...

This is our third trip to PSV, and our first time back with new ownership. We of course were curious about the changes, since perfection usually doesn't need change, but we loved all of the new things at PSV. We love the new bedding and we hate to admit we love the AC. The beach bar is a fabulous addition. The menu and food are both a total upgrade from before (lobster everyday, anyone???) and the expanded wine list and cellar are fabulous! They have a large range of price points on the wine list...something for everyone.

All the cottages are wonderful...we are partial to cottage 17, but how can you go wrong with your own private cottage in the Grenadines?? It was very windy while we were there, so we trekked to the West End beach to get out of the wind. It was actually the first time we ever went to that side of the island. Very nice as well.

The Spa....by the time we decided to book a couples massage, they were all booked up, so we didn't get to experience this. Word of advice...book early!

Tip: Great frig and complimentary soft drinks in the frig (not to mention the welcome champagne and chocolates...very nice touches). I bought some rum in Barbados and made my own cocktails for happy hour.

PSV is not for everyone...you have to totally be willing to unplug and relax. We love it and will be back. The only downside is for us from Houston it takes 3 planes and a boat to get there, but being remote is the whole point. If only I could snap my fingers and tele-travel there......
