My family attended a wedding in Milan, and wanted to stay at an agriturismo that was local and cheaply priced.
Fano's Farm (---) was one agriturismo that had a pretty good website, and we decided to give it a try.
In addition, we have a 2-year-old, and this agriturismo was very receptive to allowing us to stay there, even going to the trouble of purchasing new sheets for the baby crib that they provided us with.
Ileana was our host at her farm, and spoke very good English.
The room we had was extremely clean, and the bathroom was fine - pretty good value for the money, in my opinion.
Fano's Farm is indeed a working farm, and much of it dedicated to raising horses. Our child loved the animals, and Ileana was very happy to give us a tour and was very informative.
Milan was only 30 minutes away, and on the day after the wedding, we were also only about 30 minutes from Lake Maggiore, which is a beautiful lake, and well worth a visit for lunch and a walk on the promenade around much of the shoreline.
If you would like to have a restful base from which to explore Milan and the lake region around this city (as well as learning more about Piedmonte itself), I strongly recommend a stay at this agriturismo.
