“Enjoyable stay at The Retreat, Peregian Beach”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

We have just finished our third stay at The Retreat and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. We were so happy with our first two visits that we took friends visiting from New Zealand with us this time and we all had a great stay. Access to the beach is a short walk down a boardwalk and Peregian Beach always looks stunning. The units are all very clean and well furnished and the unique design adds to the appeal. We did stay in two units closest to the road this time and the road noise was a bit of an issue for some but we have stayed in the units on the other side of the driveway in the past and they are fine with the bedrooms on the opposite side to the road. The owners and staff have always been very welcoming and friendly and very relaxed about everything and Peregian each village is just great with lovely cafes and restaurants. I have no doubt we will go back for a fourth stay at some stage.

Thank you for the review. Unfortunately some road noise is noticeable in a couple of our Beach Houses at times, however: WOW what an aspect looking over the blue ocean and listening to the waves and the songs of the birds with bushland all that visible to the north. All this a minutes' walk to the Beach and right in the middle of the Sunshine Coast City! I think that is what we love and as you mentioned why you have come back with friends. Thanks again, we look forward to your return.

We visited the Retreat purely from reviews found on Trip advisor having found it through a google search. I have to say we were not at all disappointed with our stay. Dan and Nora were lovely and made us feel really welcome - we had just one problem and this was fixed immediately.
The view from No. 1 was amazing! A full sea view and we watched whales swim by practically every day practically.
The house arrangement - i.e. bedrooms on the lower floor took a bit of getting used to but it worked perfectly - we would not have wanted to swap our sea view for anything - it was amazing. The houses are on a lovely complex. It is on a busy road but close the door and open your terrace doors and all you can hear is the sea!
The pool was perfect and the addition of a tennis court made it all the more fun.
We could not recommend this site more. It's clean, tidy and so close to the beach - you even have your own path to get there. The resident wildlife - several bush turkeys, a few lizards - even snakes, add to the experience.
We travelled with a range of ages, my children are 11, 17 and 22. Dan and Nora offer towels, and body boards for the beach as well as tennis rackets and balls for the court. You really can't go wrong.

Room Tip: If you want a sea view then plum for No. 1 - it is breathtaking!

Finding ourselves in Queensland (from WA) for children's sporting competitions, we decided to extend our stay and have a winter break in the Sunshine Coast. We originally planned to stay 3 days here but ended up staying 6 as it suited all our needs. We enjoyed feeling isolated and cosy while still only being a short drive away from Peregian (township) and Noosa. The house was well equipped (ours even included a coffee plunger), clean & spacious. Our only complaint is the design of the bathrooms! The ensuite is way too small (so much so that I used the larger bathroom for showering), and the larger bathroom has a shelf in the shower that juts out right at shoulder height which limits your space in the shower! Both showers had those dreadful 3-piece sliding doors, one of which kept coming off it's rail or not sliding easily. Hopefully the owners of our unit will consider a few bathroom modifications:)!
The owners (& their lovely daughter) were very helpful and friendly and they also provide a tour booking service, boogie boards, tennis rackets, swim noodles, sand toys, DVDs, books and board-games for you to use during your stay, and even a small selection of chocolates, drinks and snacks if you need a treat and don't want to drive into town. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops in Noosa and Peregian, so it's up to you whether you do your own cooking or eat out. You can also walk along the beach into Peregian township and there were quite a few people fishing from the beach. We would definitely stay here again:)!

Room Tip: Some have better sea views than others, so ask for a view when booking.

I stayed in a 2 BR beach house with my son recently. The house we stayed in (14) was nicely furnished and was really clean upon our arrival. The layout is great - bedrooms downstairs, kitchen and open plan living room upstairs with double doors opening to an outside deck. All in all, great for a family or group. The house has a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. Also, there's a good size TV and a lot of movies available through the office. There are no houses or roads between you and the beach. The beach is about 100 meters away down a path that's easy to walk. If you had a lot of stuff to take down it might be a hassle, but it's not that far. The only downside for us is that the wind was from the south, and made the beach not a great option. We ended up driving to Noosa around Noosa Heads to the main beach which is protected from the south wind. Beautiful there. We also found we were driving to and from Noosa for dinners and activities. It's only 15 minutes, but you need a car. If you want to spend a lot of time in Noosa, you might want something closer. But, if you just want to stock up on groceries, hang in a nice house, and enjoy your own uncrowded beach, you'd be hard pressed to do better. And, it's a great value for everything you get for the price. I would go back. Oh yeah, the beds are OK, but not up to 'heavenly bed' standards. The houses are fairly close to the main road, but we did not have any road noise. You hear the ocean at night. Very soothing.

Room Tip: Try for a house with unobstructed view. Some toward the north have other houses in front.

Thanks you for the lovely review and it is such a shame that the time you were here we had a wind so the beach wasn't so good. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and we would love to see you again.

I holidayed with my in-laws at The Retreat and it was just gorgeous. Each beach house is designed differently and ours was lovely, spacious, modern and clean. We stayed for 3 nights and our balcony looked out across the trees to the beach. The beach is spectacular there and is only a short (less than 5 min) walk, through a beautiful tree covered walkway. We lay by the pool and spent evenings cooking and relaxing in the beach house. They also have DVD's and games you can borrow and all in all it was just a great break away. We hope to go back with friends soon.

We had decided we wanted to get away for Christmas (last year) and made a late decision to head to the beach. I had fantastic service from the moment I rang the Retreat Beach Houses through to our last day of holidays. As it was a late booking, we were only able to get a beach house that hadn't been refurbished but the moment we walked in, we were taken straight back to our childhood - a simple beach shack that you want to come back to year after year. The flagged area on the beach was just in front of the property so access to the water was simple, shower at the front door to remove all the sand, bedrooms downstairs and easy open plan living upstairs with a great deck and glimpses of the water. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating - all in all one of the best holiday destinations we have experienced on the Sunshine Coast. Would definitely recommend for couples and families.

This was he closest to the beach on the whole coast. Fantastic. It was private with great views of the beach. very comfortable and relaxing holiday. This stretch of beach is quiet and the little town of Peregian Beach has some goos restaurants.
