“....another fantastic stay at Diva Espana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2012

...i've actually lost count of the number of times i've been to Diva Espana now!....and that is a really good thing!....lots of fantastic reviews have already been written and I echo all these about the beauty, friendliness, excellent standard, fantastic food, location etc ....just thought i'd add a bit about my own personal experience of Diva Espana too....I initially stayed at DE with my partner and we had several amazing stays here as a couple....in recent years we are unable to be away from home due to caring commitments, so have both visited DE on our own.....I was a bit apprehensive about this initially ....but I needn't have been at all....women who stay at Diva Espana are such a diverse bunch!...couples, solo travellers, friends, family members, 'first timers' and regulars like me!...but one thing is for certain the care and attention given to individual needs of guests means that Kathy, Linda and Spice create a atmosphere and environment where everyone feels instantly welcomed and at home......there are plenty of spaces and opportunities to have quiet, peaceful times...but equally there are lots of occasions for chatting and making new friends too....I visit Diva Espana with a stack of books to read....and literally spend my time there reading, swimming, eating Kathy's amazing food and totally relaxing! (maybe adding in a horse ride with Clare down the road if i'm feeling energetic!!)......I always leave feeling wonderfully chilled with batteries recharged and ready to face my busy life in the UK again ..... but already very much looking forward to my next visit in September this year x

This was our second visit, you never know how somewhere will be when you return, but WOW, Diva Espana just captures you. Kathy & Linda do everything above and beyond to make sure you get what you want out of your holiday, we cannot fault a single thing, everything was as perfect as the first time. So a big thanks to Kathy & Linda for making Diva Espana such a fabulous destination for us gals! (not forgetting the adorable Spice.)

Diva Espana is AWESOME!!!!!!! Customer service is excellent, every single detail is thought off and applied! Nothing more you could ask for on a holiday: sun, scenery, pool, Jacuzzi, company, food, amazing array of wine, stunning views from bedrrom, massage, facial, olive trees (dont recommend eating olives straight from the tree!!) 6 sessions of L word!!!
We spent such a relaxing week here in the middle of moving house, which was greatly required! Although were so relaxed by the end of the week we couldn’t be bothered to apply suncream! and returned to a wet and storm ridden UK as lobsters!!!
Having never been to a womens only retreat before it was a great experience to meet so many like minded women and just to be in such non-judgemental environment for a whole week.
Kathy and spice were the best hosts (hope to meet Linda soon, when they come to visit us!, next time they are in the UK!)) The food was to die for! We still miss it now! Mealtimes will never be the same! We miss you!!

We arrived at Diva Espana through a recommendation from friends who have not stopped talking about how fantastic DE is.  So, we thought we should go ourselves, how  glad we are, what a 'gem of a place'  Kathy & Linda have created.  Lovely rooms which are spotlessly  clean, fabulous food,  amazing views and excellent customer service. Diva Espana is one of those places you just do not want to ever leave, unfortunately we had too, but hey we've booked to return, can't wait!

This is a little bit of paradise that we were sad to leave, but will be back again and again. We are made so welcome and nothing is too much trouble making it such as stress free and special place. It started with our pick up at the airport (taking away the need to rent a car) and we were driven through the beautiful mountains to Diva. The facilities are great with immaculately clean rooms, pool and a lovely hot tub which is such as treat as the sun starts to go down. The food is amazing, and for me is one of the highlights. Kathy produces the tastiest food with local ingredients and some even from their own garden. Every evening we looked forward to the creative food we would get to sample that night, and I can't say enough how good it was. We also had arranged to do some cycling and get bikes couriered. It was hassle free and allowed us to explore the local area on some rather hilly roads. The roads were great though and the local drivers were so courteous, we felt really safe. The owners of the bar in Los Venturas recommended some great routes and then with the map from Linda and Kathy we had a great time. One of the lovely places we stopped at was Lake Vinuela,- really worth a look from the hotel at the top of the hill while taking a some refreshments. This is undoubtedly our favourite resort with a great location and great facilities - but the main reason is the owners Kathy and Linda who are so friendly and welcoming who make this such a special place.

Room Tip: All rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated - the Apartment is good if you want a bit more spa...

I can't begin to say what an amazing holiday we had at Diva Espana. We now understand why this place has had such wonderful reviews! Even from our initial enquiry, the level of customer service we received was excellent. We were so impressed by how quickly and efficiently Linda and Kathy responded to all of our enquiries. We were given all the information we needed and by the time we left for Diva Espana, we knew exactly what to expect and felt completely at ease.
This excellent customer service and level of care continued throughout our whole stay. We had never stayed in women only accommodation before but we are so glad now that we did. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun and it was great getting to know the other guests. Linda and Kathy have a natural ability to make everyone feel at home in their home and we really appreciated their warmth and hospitality.

The food...another issue altogether. We could write a whole review just recommending the food at Diva Espana. Kathy is a genius. We are both vegetarian but this was no challenge for Kathy! We were delighted that we got to try lots of food we hadn't had before and it was DELICIOUS. Even the big meat eaters in the group tried our food and were jealous! If you are vegetarian you must put Diva Espana on your 'To-do list' in life...in fact, even the meat looked good to us!!

The only reason we would not recommend this accommodation is because we want to keep this secret gem to ourselves! We are already planning another trip and thinking about taking more family. This place has something for everyone. If you want an active or relaxing break, If you are single or a couple - this is the place for you.

If you are planning to stay at Diva Espana, you should prepare yourself for an absolutely perfect holiday in one of the most beautiful places in the world. You will not be dissappointed!

My partner surprised me with a short break at 'diva espana' Easter for my birthday. We have returned from what can only be described as the most relaxing and enjoyable 5 days holiday we have had together. From the moment we arrived down the Diva drive, Kathy and Linda welcomed us with huge smiles and friendliness unparalleled. In fact, we had driven from Malaga airport with out the aid of a map (we had lost the map Linda sent us before we left and thought we would just wing it) and found it! Apparently this has never been done before! If you don't fancy driving, Linda offers airport pickup's and drop-offs at really reasonable rates.
We had the 'olive grove' apartment, which is a little more secluded than the other rooms and has self catering facilities, a private terrace amongst the olive trees and a king size bed. We also had a mezzanine floor with sofa, cushions and tv/DVD. It rained for the first time this year while we were there so we actually used the TV/DVD for a couple hours until the sun came back out!
The pool was freezing at this time of year, but that didn't stop us using it along with the small group of other guests while we were there. Although the jacuzzi at night, with a glass of cava was the popular choice to end most evenings!
Although we were supposed be self catering, due to Easter being the biggest religious festival in Spain, we were struggling to find a supermarket open. This was not a problem and Kathy and Linda welcomed us to join them for breakfast and dinner when ever we needed too. Which was actually a blessing in disguise as Kathy' cuisine was officially world class!
There were so many things to do which we're less than an hours drive from diva espana, all of which came with suggestions, maps and information from the hostesses! Lake vinuela has a lovely walk, El Torcal is a fascinating trip to a natural park, and the beaches of Nerja were gorgeous on a hot day. On saying that there was Lots of walks directly around the apartment, and if you were so inclined you could while the time away with a good book swinging from the hammocks in olive trees or on the roof terrace.
Kathy and Linda are really dedicated to great customer experience, and by the time we were leaving we felt we had made friends; with them and the other guests. We will most certainly be back - which is not our normal approach to holidays as there is always so many places we want to travel too! And if you visit, we defy you to find reason not to do the same!
