We arrived here on a cold and windy night. Kevin, the owner was welcoming and we paid for a night's camping at $10 for two. They provide delicious roast dinners for $15 and cooked breakfasts too. We went for the dinner which was delicious. There is a shower which costs $3 and flush toilets. All the facilities are very clean. There are outside facilities for washing up but no indoor place to be unless you are eating dinner prepared by the owners. Free WiFi from 6 pm to 11pm worked well.

We found this campsite purely by accident and we're so glad we did.
The owner is so lovely and helpful. For only five dollars a night you can camp and wifi is provided! There is also a DVD collection you can borrow from and we we're lucky enough to be lent a DVD player for the night.
Great attitude from the owner, rock bottom prices and extras you can pay for if you want.
Would def recommend a stay here. We didn't partake in the evening meal but it looked like it would be amazing!

After a glorious day in exploring the region, we stumbled upon this place by sheer accident while trying to navigate to a DOC site. Kevin and Sue have a no frills campsite that can provide electricity to charge items, has a clean shower, and a minimal menu to order from if you don't feel like cooking yourself. Kevin gave us free cider, great conversation, and a warm welcome. A nice change from the pricey holiday parks, and overcrowded doc sites. IF you are exploring the Catlins, this should be your base from which to do so. Best bang for $5 pp of our whole South Island trip

We stayed here after passing by on the way to view the penguins at Nugget Point, attracted by the very affordable price and free WIFI. We were not disappointed. Owners were very friendly, and even brought us lollies (sweets) after dinner! They offer food, and showers for a reasonable price, although we didn't need them. Lovely location next to the sheep in the rolling hills of the Catlins. Shame we couldn't stay longer.
