My husband and I stayed for a week in this beautiful, rural trullo and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in the Puglian countryside. The trullo itself was nicely fitted out, clean and full of charm. I would have been quite happy to have stocked up with the amazing local Italian food and wine, and lazed about at the trullo - swinging in the hammock and cooking in the delightful pizza oven (not just for pizzas!).
However, the joy of this holiday was also the location - between the two coastlines. We visited a number of stunning beaches and historical towns during our stay (a hire car is a must) as this area of Italy was not one I had visited before. Beautifully untouristy (apart from Italians "in the know") we found local restaurants were fantastic value and the places we visited seemed unspoilt. Despite our inadequate Italian, communication was never an issue and locals were all friendly and helpful.
I will be returning.
Nice historical Trullo in a peaceful and quiet place. Great opportunity to cook pizza in a real oven. Close to the best sightseeing places in Apulia.
Stayed here for a week in May. It was so peaceful and quiet, with plenty of parking and a nice garden to enjoy the sun. We ate cherries straight from the trees, and had picnics in the nearby pine forest, Pineta Ulma, a short walk away. We were offered a pizza-making masterclass, using the attached pizza oven, and were provided with organic ingredients and local recipes for pizza and focaccia. The kitchen is well equipped, and we cooked in a few nights.
Overall, a nice week away, and I will definitely be returning.
