It was such a pleasure to have the chance to attend this workshop with sensei Kyosuke and lovely Yoko. It is easy walking distance from Sanjusangendo temple/national museum or the train station and they speak very good English. Generous tea and sweets! You come away with a framed postcard which makes such a personal souvenir. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing morning away from the busy tourist crowds. A favourite memory of my time in Kyoto!

Hi! JennyB4834

Sorry for the late reply.
Thank you for posting reviews before this.

After that, have you been able to buy brushes and various painting materials at Gwasendo?
I hope you can draw a variety of pictures even in your daily life!

When you come to Japan again, please come to our workshop.
I am looking forward to seeing you again

Thank you!

I have attended the kimono art workshop in KYO-YA. The teacher, Mr Kojima is a kimono artist. He teached me to paint the pattern patiently. Mr and mrs Kojima are very nice people. I was having a good time in painting. I highly recommend this workshop to those who love Japanese culture. Other than wearing kimono, kimono art workshop is the one you should not miss in the Kyoto trip.

Kyosuke Kojima and his wife Yoko were excellent hosts! We had a wonderful morning with them as they guided us through our selected paintings. It was an excellent way to experience a bit of Japanese culture (complete with tea and snacks) in a very quiet and unique way. Best of all, you get a hand made souvenir to bring home! I would highly recommend this experience.

Your daughter painted a kimono pattern very well.
Moreover, we were surprised by the certainty of the eyes to distinguish your art.

If you are coming to Japan again, please do come to the Kyo-ya!
Thank you!

Handmade momentos mean more! Terrific hosts, peaceful and inviting setting. All, including teenage daughter, enjoyed artists with painting and delicious snacks. This authentic, off the beaten path, activity was definitely a highlight of our trip to Kyoto. Suitable for any age.

Hello Judy G
Thank you for posting a nice review. We were also happy that we could spend very nice time with your husband and daughter.
Both of them enjoyed our workshop very well and we enjoyed being able to sing the Beatles' songs together.
They said that this time was the first time for a Japanese trip, but please come back if there is anything you can come to Japan again. Thank you!
Please say hello to your husband and daughter.
