In the past 10 years, there are several additions to the Tokyo top hotel list. Most of them belong to international hotel chains (Ritz Carlton, Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, etc) but this one is a genuine Japanese hotel. Before the renovation, this hotel was a tired old establishment whose location was the only reason to stay. Now modern amenity, good size room and good service were added. Many subway lines stop within a short walk distance. It is a great choice especially if you are a business traveler to do something with mainstream Japanese companies in the area.

Room Tip: Even a standard category room has 45 square meter. There is no bad room in this hotel.

This is a fantastic hotel, though I guess Japan is a Number 1 country for a lot of travel experiences.

Location: great for both business and pleasure. View of Imperial Park!
Rooms: perfect size, pleasant, brand new, all the amenities
Service: very professional and thorough
Cleanliness: just one anecdote - once walked in during the cleaning of my room. The whole bed was torn apart, no doubt in order to thoroughly inspect and clean
Restaurant: delicious

Criticisms? Ok, just to say something: was not thrilled with a round table for work and chairs on which it is hard to put clothes (really nitpicking here...). Japanese restaurant too pricey...

Excellent stay!

The Palace Hotel was recommended by a good and knowledgable source, and boy did he get it right! Before booking, I compared it with other five-star properties in the key areas of Tokyo, but kept coming back to the Palace.

It's hard to believe that many of the five/six star properties at 50% or 100% higher prices are going to be much better than this. The rooms are very large and immaculately presented, with a large balcony (we had a Deluxe King with Balcony). Reception, concierge, and restaurant service is all terrific, everything you would expect from a five-star hotel.

For us the location was superb. We were there to visit areas such as Roppongi, Ginza, Harajuku, Shinjuku, etc, and most if not all of these were 15-20 minutes or less away on one of the five lines from Otemachi subway station just outside the hotel. And getting to/from Narita or other locations further afield is a breeze from Tokyo Station, a mere 10+ minutes walk or 700Yen taxi ride away.

Highly recommended. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook here when I next visit Tokyo.

Room Tip: A balcony room facing east or south

I have stayed at the Palace a couple of timess now and it has excellent amenities, staff/service and proximity to major business in Tokyo and Tokyo Station. It is a first class hotel and is newer than some of the other top hotels in the vicinity. Highly recommend for business travellers. Rooms overlook the expansive Imperial Palace which is always impressive in the middle of Tokyo.

Room Tip: All rooms are good so don't worry.

The old Palace Hotel was somewhat "passé" and was a reminder of a time when there were very few international hotels in Tokyo and certainly not to the modern international standard .
The new Palace Hotel has been competely reconstructed and it is now one of the best, if not the best, luxury hotel in Tokyo.
The location is prime, facing the Imperial Palace, right in the center of the city.
The service is immaculate, the rooms are tastefully decorated with a large balcony facing the large esplanade in front of the Imperial Palace.
It is a great experience .

Room Tip: high floor facing the Imperial Palace
