Decent Disney hotel, helps if you can read Japanese

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Mar 2018
This is clearly a large and reliable hotel, popular with visitors to Disneyland. The property is very much geared up to the local market and signage in English is very limited. Consequently it is difficult to get the most out of the facilities if you are unable to read the menus or hotel literature. It's also worth noting that the rooms are laid out in Japanese traditional fashion, which extends to the bathroom also. WiFi is available for a fee. Being an official hotel, there is a frequent complimentary shuttle to Bayside station of the (chargeable) monorail. A similarly useful feature is the ability to drop off your bags at the Resort Gateway on arrival, leaving you free to enjoy yourself before arriving at the hotel in the evening. Cleanliness and service are fine. Staff are as helpful as is possible.

It was our first trip to Disney and Japan and choose this hotel for its location. However it was not so pleasant stay.
1. Extremely Slow checkin.
2. No clear communication on luggage delivery service. Even after asking they didn't give any clear response on closing time of this service . Ultimately ended up carrying my luggage all the way to Mt Fuji Hakone tour and back to Tokyo city to a new hotel, as we had to check out as per our itinerary.
3. They are so sticky about money that they didn't even have coffee sachets in the room . They just has 2 sachet of tea bags that's it!!!! They are riding on Disney wave that's it..
4. Exorbitantly high price for the kind of small cabin cruise room we got. Very small room. Not at all value for money at all.
5. No direct free bus to Tokyo Disneyland or Disney sea throughout the day except for park opening time. You need to take free bus to nearest monorail station and pay for monorail to Diensypark. Instead good to stay in Hilton which is right in front of Monorail station. Worthless sticky hotel. All they want is money for everything.

Room tip: Its all show from outside, inside its budget hotel. At 1/4th price I stayed in excellent hotels in Kyoto / Tokyo.

Sunroute Plaza has a very good price point for staying near and with a free shuttle to the Disney parks. My room was nicely designed--it kind of felt like it had a vintage monorail decor. The California restaurant serves a midnight buffet, for a fraction of the cost of the regular buffet I believe, and has really good (or at least what I got repetitively): pork buns, seaweed + cucumber salad, chicken nuggets, "make your own ramen," and vanilla creme cake. They also offer good bento boxes (ex. sukiyaki, fried chicken), which can be purchased late--as you will likely be returning late to the hotel. I believe as a Disney Resort Official Hotel, there is guaranteed park admission.

I love this hotel. Lobby is grand. Room is huge even with 3 single beds. Toiletries are great.

They have free shuttle to Disney train station which makes it so convenient to go to the theme parks anytime of the day. We visited both disneyland and disneysea and transfers were never a problem.

You can also buy disney tickets in the hotel lobby

The only set back is their breakfast. They have several restuarants that cater bfast but they offered almost the same food. The food taste ok but nothing close to the breakfast we had in our hotel in Asakusa.
Hope they can improve their menu.

Lastly but most impt. The airport limo bus stops right in front of the hotel. super convenient.

Book here as this is the best if you plan to visit disney resorts for more than 1 day.

Hotel location is excellent. Safety box in room is a great help. Laundry bag in room is expected but not provided.

Appreciated if 2+ luggage can be stored in hotel. Also 2+ luggage can be stored under the bus limousine to airport.

This is the first time we stayed at Sunroute Plaza Tokyo. We were upgraded to the twin bedded room which was huge and spacious facing the lake. It's the nearest hotel to Tokyo Disneyland and there were many shuttles from the hotel to Disneyland , Ipsikara and Maihama Station. Love the cleanliness of the room. Just a few minutes ride away we can reach Disneyland and were there early to be the first ones to enter. Best budget place to stay which is Disneyland friendly with a cute Disney bus to transport the hotel guests.
