“It really is a little paradise”

We went to stay at Woodland Cottages in April, with our 2 dogs, and stayed in the Owl cottage. It has a beautifully decorated interior and was more than big enough for us 4. The dogs are usually a bit shy but felt at home within an hour and they enjoyed the field out front and made friends with the resident springer spaniel Ben in no time. Alison is a lovely lady and always happy to help if needed. We loved it so much that we are going back in July this year for a week. The surroundings are beautiful too and beaches are just a short drive away, most of which are dog friendly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are after a relaxing peaceful break with your dogs then this is the place to go.

We are so thankful that we found this lovely set of cottages...they are the perfect place for dog owners who prefer to holiday with their furry friends. We were made most welcome by owners Tim & Alison, who are there if you need them but don't interfere. We were in Badger Cottage - beautifully restored, offering everything you could ask for. This is the only place I know where you can take any number of dogs - not restricted to the usual maximum 2! The views from the enclosed patio are stunning, and the nearby wood walk is just right. We plan to return as soon as we can!!

What a wonderful cottage at Woodland Cottages, Newton Tracey, Devon. We stayed in the Badgers cottage, which was so clean and spacious. The equipment within the cottage is first class. Very comfortable and peaceful. The views were fantastic. Alison and Tim are wonderful. We also went to Instow beach and Instow pub bar, lovely food and no problems taking your dog into the bar area. Will be returning.

After a week's stay, we can confidently say that Badger cottage is ideal for those who want a quiet, relaxing time. The woodland walk is perfect if you do not wish to go far. We ventured to Westward Ho!, Clovelly, Arlington Court and Bideford, all of which are easily reached. Closer to, the beach at Instow is ideal for the more active dog - even our 15 year old collie enjoyed it. The cottage itself is comfortable and well equipped (dishwasher!!), whilst the owners are always available to help. We would have no hesitation in recommending Woodland Cottages to family and friends, whether dog owners or not. Thanks for a great week.

We are regulars, we love the whole package that Woodland Cottages offers!

Sometimes we stay for business, and add a couple of days to the trip and we also return under our own steam to stay in this great location especially as it becomes increasingly harder to find dog friendly accommodation.

The Cornish and Somerset coasts are within easy reach, the local Devon coast is even closer.

The cottages are a great place to relax and enjoy a walk with your four legged friend round the meadow or the woods.

You really will not be disappointed with the accommodation or location especially if you have a dog to cater for too.

Although very rural with the cottages location road access and facility's are just a short drive away, only the last few miles are on B roads.

Room Tip: Book it, you will not be disappointed with any of the cottages!

We're recently back from a weeks stay in Owl, the smallest of the three cottages. We found the cottage to be homely, comfortable and well equipped with lovely views from the patio. It was clean and the linens provided were clean and good quality. We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen had a dishwasher and washing machine in addition to the other facilities. The grounds and surrounding woodlands offered a convenient location for morning and evening walks. Alison, the owner of the cottages was friendly and made us feel very welcome and relaxed with our dog.

The location was perfect for getting to lots dog friendly places including the local pub (The Hunter's Inn, I think) and some great walks along the Tarka Trail and South West Coastal Path. Also handy was the large Sainsbury's about 10 minutes away in Barnstaple and a number of restaurants/takeaways in Barnstaple and Torrington.

Excellent if you are looking for dog (more than) friendly place to stay. Cottage really nice and we'll equipped. ( one of three cottages, sharing field and woods). Quiet and relaxing place, made to feel comfortable with dogs. Owners friendly and helpful (but not interfering). Only half hr from the coast, with nice walking areas. Hope to go again !
