“Battery Recharge? - Mission Accomplished!”
Reviewed 24 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Once more Okel Tor lived up to our (very) high expectations. Peace & quiet, rest & restoration of the soul completed! Great weather, thanks Nick & Greg for organising that. Cottage warm & comfortable, welcoming as ever. Nick is a great host, helped us out this time above & beyond the call of duty. We can't wait to come back. J&C

Thank you for a wonderful stay. For anyone with an interest in history or a longing to escape this is the perfect retreat! We felt so rested when we left. It was very tastefully and thoughtfully designed and enjoyed the great selection of local sights with a number within walking distance. We even managed breakfast outside (once) - in February!

“Just the most beautiful place to stay!!!”
Reviewed 16 February 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Our 2nd visit this time staying in the smithy ( we previously stayed in the count house). We spent the most relaxing few days over Christmas and into the new year celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. The cottage truly lived up to our expectations. Cosy, tastefully decorated with all our needs catered for. We enjoyed amazing walks and a wander to the local pubs every evening. Our dog Sidney loved being able to dart around the beautiful grounds and the woods were explored every morning. If you want a romantic getaway from it all you must visit. We will back again this year!!! Thanks Nick, Greg and Jess the dog. Rachel, Joe and Sidney

“Last minute booking”
Reviewed 9 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Apologies for late review. This was my third visit & as before it was perfect. We stayed in the smithy. You want for nothing, very well equipped. The views from the smithy are amazing & it's lovely to sit out on the veranda late at night & listen to the owls. The village is just a 10-15 min walk away, where there is a local stores & a couple of very friendly pubs. Would definitely stay again & recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing break. Thank you

“Peaceful retreat”
Reviewed 5 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We stayed at the Smithy for a weekend break and the dog was welcome too. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and is equipped with all you can you think of.
The property sits between the owners property and the other rental property, The Count House. We were the only ones on this site which was nice and quiet and the view down the winding river day and night is lovely. The only small negative I would give is that the heating boiler is situated on the other side of the bedroom wall which breaks into the dead quiet at about 5 in the morning. The road to this property is more of a bridle path than a road and this gives it the feeling of remoteness but is only a 15 minute walk along the river tamar to the nearest village of Calstock. The Tamar Inn comes highly recommended.

Thank you for your feedback - we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay.
We note your comment about the boiler. Whilst the boiler house is adjacent to the cottage, there is nearly two foot of solid stone wall between them. The boiler only operates when there's a demand for heat - generally that's during the day and evening. It can be so very, very quiet here so, you can be aware of even the slightest noise. We're sorry that your sleep was disturbed.

Beautifull views over the Tamar. Very peacefull with everything you could need at the property including WIFI. A 10 minute walk into Calstock for the local shop and a very nice pub.
We would highly recommend this place and will definately return hopefully in the summer next time.
