A great little pub on the main road through Deddington, very pleasant interior and nice outside eating area at the back for when the weather's fine.
Great if you like pies but a rather limited menu otherwise, having said that, the pies are of excellent quality, packed with filling and perfectly cooked, and served with veg and chips or mash. With some of the pies you also get a choice of shortcrust or puff pastry.
The quality of the food is reflected in the prices, above the 'pub grub' price range but definitely worth it for the quantity and quantity, Desserts are also great.
It's a Hook Norton Brewery tied pub so the real ales are limited to their beer range. On offer at our visit were Hooky Bitter, Lion and Nice Try (a special for the Rugby), all on good forms, the Hooky was reasonably priced but the others were perhaps slightly above the average.
The only real drawback, due to it's location on the main road with no car park of its own, is that it can sometimes be difficult to find parking nearby.
