My Partner booked a night here as a surprise for my 50th, the Staff were extremely warm and welcoming, the room was clean and well furnished. The complimentary Champagne provided was very poor (Bland Taste) the Jacuzzi in the bathroom although a reasonable size, we ran out of hot water while trying to fill it full enough to turn jets on, meaning we could only spend a short time in it till the water become too cold. The only meal we had was breakfast which was very enjoyable.

We arrived at the Who'd a thought at 12 noon to a Very warm welcome , after having a pre lunch drink we sat down to enjoy a superb meal , there was not only a roast dinner available but various other meals as well although I would recommend the roast pork , it was delicious ! After our dinner we retired to the bar where our family met us for a drink

We arrived with big expectations given that the room was £160 per night, only to be left slightly disappointed. which is a shame as the staff were extremely welcoming, such lovely people. But the room was small, and very dark, the tv didn't work, the bathroom was cold, the lamp didnt work, the pull on the bathroom light fell off, and whilst we were there we overheard the staff saying they had put an discounted offer online, which made is feel a bit gutted that we had paid full price. The jacuzzi was lovely though, and the food was amazing,

I stayed at this hotel as part of a 30th birthday weekend for my wife with the two of us and our young son. There were a lot of positives about the place - the theme and concept of the place was very well thought-out, the room was very comfy and the large jacuzzi in our room (the Piper Hiedsieck suite) was great. On the negative side, we did clearly advise the staff when I booked the room via telephone that we would need space in the room for our travel cot and a high chair with our table for dinner, both of which I was told would be provided for. When we got to dinner I could see dropped food items on the floor beneath several tables which was off-putting. We were then told there were actually no high chairs available making the meal quite awkward, taking turns to have our 20-month-old on our laps. My wife's meal was also spoilt by the presence of a large hair! In fairness the meal was taken back without hesitation, a freshly-cooked replacement quickly provided, and the (very good) desserts were left off the final bill by way of an apology. Still, this further took the edge off the meal. The bar area had intermittent wi-fi access, however with the accommodation block some way away the room was out of range which meant we could not use the wi-fi in the room at all - another let-down. With the hotel set in a very rural location this meant no use of mobile internet. When we went back to our room we put our son to bed, then I went back to the bar to get a couple of drinks to bring back to the room - only to find the bar had already closed at barely 9pm! In the morning the breakfast was fair, although the choice and portion size both left a lot to be desired. All in all, while the stay was by no means a disaster, there were just too many things that took the edge off, leaving me very disappointed for the money I had paid and in no rush to return.

Thank you for your feedback on your stay, reviews are valuable and allow us to address any issues. I am sorry to learn that your dining experience was not to our usual high standard and I sincerely apologise for the confusion regarding the cot and high-chair.
Again my apologies but we do occasionally close the bar earlier on a quiet Sunday evening especially after our very busy lunch/day-time service.
I do hope you are able to re-visit us and I will ensure your stay with us is exceptional.

Homely and welcoming. The staff go the extra mile and the food is exquisite. The chef was happy to explain, when we had a query about his recipes. We were made to feel special. I will always remember this visit. We can't wait for our next visit.
