“Spacious , comfortable, clean home from home.”
Reviewed 4 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We stayed here for a long weekend as a group of 10, we ranged in age from 9 to 50+. The house is spacious and clean and I must say we all found the bedlinen to be of 5* hotel quality. The hot tub was a real hit, and exceptionally clean. There was plenty of room for all 10 of us to eat around the dining table every morning and every evening and this was a real treat. The house certainly does have everything you could possibly need, even a spare fridge in the shed for the beer and proseco! You're welcome hamper was a lovely surprise, we all had breakfast together on the Saturday morning using the contents, delicious! The garden is well maintained with two lovely decked area to sit out and enjoy the Sun. We will definitely be back!

I am so glad the house worked so well for you and I hope you enjoyed the Air Show as much as I did ! Also very glad to hear that the hamper went down well! We look forward to welcoming you all back to Virasol at some time in the future. Very best wishes Jackie Portlock

“Put it in the family memory bank.”
Reviewed 9 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

You can trust the superlative adjectives about Virasol. Every need for an extended family's celebration was catered for. The kitchen was amply equipped. Our granddaughter enjoyed the 2nd upstairs sitting room - space for reading and relaxing. Easter egg hunt in the garden was great fun. Not only the house, but Bransgore itself proved a delight. Shopkeepers friendly and helpful and loads of local produce to try and walks to sample. The local pubs are very good too. The hot tub proved very popular and the owners really do go 'the extra mile' to ensure a happy experience. The welcome hamper was amazing and all three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Many thanks for this lovely review of Virasol and particularly for the reference to the safe garden which I know will be of interest to families with young children. Always good to have an unbiased view of the facilities which bears out the description on the website. So glad you all enjoyed your stay.

Liked best: The fact that the house had great cooking and dining facilities and all utentsils, gadgets you could need and the fact that it felt like a home rather than a sterile, empty holiday house.
Liked least: Its hard to think of anything negative really, if I had to say something I would recommend that there be some milk in the welcome hamper so we could make tea! :)

“Fab house for a group weekend away with plenty to do nearby.”
Reviewed 7 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Lovely house brilliantly located between several great pubs, near the beach and in a lovely village. The house was well equipped - especially kitchen and there was plenty of games, dvds etc. The hot tub was well enjoyed by all and definitely a selling point for us!
Thanks for a lovely place in a great location.

“Wonderfully relaxed”
Reviewed 30 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Very homely and sparking clean. Great selection of Dvd's book's and games left out. The hot tub is fun on a cold evening. Lovely bedrooms. More of a snug DVD living room downstairs and more open living room for games upstairs. Sky sports package on the tv kept a few people happy!

Superb pub 'The Three Tuns' at the end of the road. Fantastic food and atmosphere.

Great beach walks in the surrounding area, so easy to get out and explore.

Parking was a little tricky having to move the middle car before you can move two others, could just do with widening the gate posts.

“Beautiful, comfortable and who can resist a hot tub?!”
Reviewed 26 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

A group of 10 of us stayed here for a long weekend at the beginning of March.
The house is glorious - three lovely double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom and two with a four-poster bed, and two basic but perfectly fine twin rooms. The twin bed I used had the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on!
The downstairs living room has comfortable sofas, a couple of chairs and leads directly into the small conservatory containing the huge organ, on which we massacred several songs over the weekend. We didn't use the upstairs living room at all during our stay but it's a nice room with more comfy sofas and a huge supply of games.
There are more than enough bathrooms to go round even when the full complement of ten people is in place.
The kitchen is well-stocked with crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans etc although it is perhaps a little smaller than we might have liked. On our first night there, three of us were cooking three separate full meals at the same time and we did tend to get in each other's way a little.
There's an extra fridge in the shed in the garden which was much needed with ten of us - one fridge was just used for drinks!
Of course, the thing that sold the place to us was the hot tub! Admittedly, I was expecting it to be in a small purpose-built sort of shed rather than being outdoors (albeit with a roof) but even so, it's not to be missed. Even in the sub-zero temperatures, most us managed to scuttle barefoot down the frozen pathway, peel off our warm clothes and dive in to the steaming hot tub. The various buttons which control the different jets etc took some working out but we got the hang of it eventually.
All in all, It's a great base for exploring the local area - great part of the New Forest, and the house makes for a lovely, comfortable stay.

Our only reservations:
- The oven and grill are far too small when ten people are in. Trying to do a full cooked breakfast for all ten of us was nigh on impossible as we could only grill about 6 sausages and 6 rashers of bacon at a time.
- The parking on the gravel drive is, as it says, suitable for three cars. However, once all three are in, it's impossible for two of them to get out unless the car in the middle moves first. That makes it a bit limiting given that only two cars are allowed to park on the road. If a group took five cars, that would be a bit of a pain.
- The 10am checkout! I think we would probably rather a 5pm check-in and an 11am checkout. 10am really was pretty early for ten of us to get up, all have breakfast, clean up, shower, pack etc. Unless you have breakfast at 7am, it's impossible to put the breakfast dishes etc through the dishwasher and take them out and put them away before the 10am cut-off.
- Wi-Fi only works on the upper floor or if sitting on the stairs. That's fine but it should be stated that it's not available downstairs.

The cost between 10 of us (low-season) was fantastic, costing less than £100 per person for three nights. Highly recommended, and I imagine it's even better in the summer (if we ever get one!)

Many thanks for this very detailed review of Virasol. Just needed to clarify a few of the points raised in the Reservations section.
Oven, hob and grill at Virasol are of standard dimensions. Oven has 3 shelves and takes a full size joint/turkey.Oven and hob are set into a generous recessed space surrounded by continuous worktop. We do additionally have a slow cooker, warming cupboard and dual function microwave, plus double bbq in grounds for use during summer months. The kitchen is superbly equipped with plenty of worktop space, breakfast bar and french doors opening onto the rear deck. It is of a good size and is open plan into the dining area. The website pictures are an accurate representation of kitchen/dining area space.
Hot tubs - by their very nature - are generally housed outside. The hot tub at Virasol is situated at the end of a paved walkway and is surrounded and covered by an attractive, timber-framed, vaulted gazebo which renders it both secluded and functional in all weathers. Clear instructions for use of hot tub are displayed in the house, in the hot tub area and are sent out to guests prior to arrival. We are always on hand to give any additional guidance if necessary.
Check-out time of 10am is standard for all larger properties which need a 6 hour turnaround in order to clean/launder/re-stock to our high standard. Weekend guests may always request a later check-out and, if the property is not booked for a same-day turnaround, we will do our best to comply.
Wi-Fi at Virasol is fully functional on the upper floor where the router is housed and where we have an additional sitting room, large landing with seat and 3 of the 5 bedrooms.
There is secure, gated parking for 3 cars with room for a further 2 on the hard-standing and verge outside. We can and do frequently accommodate a maximum of 5 cars at the property without difficulty
