“Highly recommend this excellent pub”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We stopped for a delicious meal at The Carpenters Arms. The staff were extremely friendly especially the waitress that served us. There was a great choice of food on the menu and a lovely place to eat for the family. The kids absolutely loved the special New Forest icecream!! We will definitely be back next time we visit the New Forest. Thanks

“Friendly pub”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We called in after seeing it was a dog friendly pub while staying in the new forest on holiday. It was very friendly which was nice, the menu was good and 3 out of the 4 meals was very good but we wouldn't recomment the cod off the specials there was so many bones in it, we've never eaten fish out anywhere and had so many bones (actually never had a bone in the cod anywhere). It did put my wife off picking them all out, we mentioned it to the young waitress and she didn't appear to see what was the problem was, which didn't feel to be the right answer.

It was a nice place though i'm sure you'll enjoy it.

“Good food”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Good value for money, the pies are great. It's how a pie should be not this fancy puff pastry top with nothing but gravy underneath. After you have eaten here you will be full. Nothing is too much trouble to adjust the meals to your liking. Sunday lunch is great value for money with 2 courses for just under £10. Well done on producing good food and great atmosphere.

“Overall experience...”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

I have now been back many times because this Is a special pub/ restaurant. Probably not quite the best meals I have ever eaten out (as I have been pretty lucky to have enjoyed some top notch establishments); iI have marked so highly for the overall experience. Few places have the balance so good between an honest pub restaurant (home cooked, tasty food), friendly, attentive staff, nice wine list and a great pub with very well kept ales, etc.
There is a free function room and the premises are big enough that the locals may enjoy the football match on a TV without disturbing the diners - yet it seems cosy - great.
Peroni has now given way to 1664.
