“Fantastic pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

This is a fantastic, relaxed, family run pub which serves delicious, truly home made food which represents real value for money. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are happy to go that extra mile to accommodate. Food is always prompt, well presented and served with a smile. Highly recommended!

“Relaxed, Friendly and good food.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

My father loves this place - I take him almost weekly.

The staff is very good, especially with the older customers like my father who are regulars. They treat them with respect and keep an eye on them that everything is ok. Like it used to be. In fact they know my fathers order better then he does.

The ham/Egg/Chips is a very large portion. The burger is good, the roasts are good, the omelets are good. My sister loves the Mac and Cheese - its really very cheesy/creamy. The Gammon I've had is ok - I like mine a bit well done to be fair. There is a large choice, some I think I can't fit in at lunch like the lamb - tempted but portions defeat me. They have light bites too which are good.

Very standard good old English pub food. I haven't tried Dinner only lunches. If i recall weekends used to be very busy but even during the week when I come now it can be full from 1pm so get there just gone 12 and you'll be fine.

Loyal customers keep going back for years so it has to be good.

“Fab-u-lous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

Stopped here on the way back from Gunwarf Quays yesterday, with my mate and his wife. The London pride was the best pint in the new forest as per usual. Then I had a 3 course meal, the hunter's chicken was delicious. The bar and waitresses are always smiling and happy to chat, which is nice. Definitely worth a visit, beer, food and staff are lush!!
