“Clean, comfortable, quiet with great food and super hosts!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2011

Our experience of Bindon Bottom mirrors all the excellent reviews already posted here.

We stayed in the Hardy room which has a great view and seats in the bay window from which to enjoy it. It was spotlessly clean with a super ensuite shower room. Lots of thoughtful extras were available as well as a more than adequate tea and coffee tray including organic.

Our bed was extremely comfortable with super fresh linen that gave us a very good nights sleep.

Lisa & Clive, the B&B owners were friendly, welcoming, always available to help but yet never OTT. They have created a very relaxed environment in which to enjoy all Lulworth has to offer.

Other reviewers have already done a much better job than I on just how amazing this B&B is.

My summary is, you will NOT be disappointed!!

P.S. Don't skip breakfast, it is yet another highlight

I wanted a quiet week of walking and writing, and that's exactly what I got. Lisa and Clive were perfect hosts: kind, considerate, and unobtrusive. The food was excellent (get the packed lunch!) and I love the location: far enough away from the tour buses and souvenir shops for a quiet life, but close enough to walk down to the cove and beyond.

I'm looking forward to seeing the refurbished rooms when I come back!

I was greeted in the car park by Lisa, and was given a warm welcome, more significantly since it was a terribly cold day.

We stayed in Keats room, which is a spacious and lovely room and has a great anoramic view. Neal's Yard toiletries and other things you may forget to pack were all provided in a box, which is an surprise.

The breakfast was good, and used local sources very fully.

The only weak I have demonstrate is the shower room, since no heater in operation, it is a bit cold to take shower in a winter morning( Keats room is not ensuit now, other ensuit rooms should be much better in the term of warm bathroom), However, lisa said an ensuit shower room and floor heating will be applied to Keats room fairly soon.

You’re in for a treat if you stay at Graybank!

Booking was a breeze. Their online availability calendar lets you see what rooms are available. We submitted our booking enquiry online and Lisa called us within 2 hours to confirm. We received a detailed Booking Confirmation via email within minutes.

We arrived at Graybank and we were greeted in the car park by Lisa, who gave us a warm welcome and offered to help us with our bags. We were shown to our room and Lisa gave us a few practical tips about the room and hints on where to eat locally, then left us to quietly relax and settle in.

We stayed in the Hardy Room - What a view! We made ourselves a cuppa from the organic selection of teas, coffees & herbal alternatives on the hospitality tray and enjoyed the jar of local Dorset cookies whilst we soaked up the beautiful hillside views as the sun went down… what a brilliant start to a much needed relaxing short break!

We normally only search out and book 4 star + minimum and Graybank is not even officially ‘rated’… and it doesn’t need to be! Lisa & Clive’s personal standards are 5 Star + and they work tirelessly to make sure that you feel relaxed and spoilt.

Exactly what a Bed & Breakfast should be... a divinely cozy bed & the most delicious breakfast I've ever eaten!!!

We’ll be booking again next year, there’s no question!

10/10

If you are looking for a friendly welcome, service where nothing is too much trouble, a spacious and tastefully furnished room (Hardy is the largest and has a smashing view) and a breakfast with a huge choice of organic produce, then Graybank B&B will suit you fine.

We were met by Lisa, an outgoing hostess who showed us every detail of our room. There were two easy chairs in the bay window with magazines and books to read as well as a Freesat telly. Lisa gave us the low down on where to eat & drink including quality of waiting staff, choice of food, size of portions, real ales & ciders, etc.

The king sized bed was so snuggly with its pocket sprung mattress, goose down quilt and quality pillows. The en suite (currently not in all rooms, but that is Clive & Lisa’s project for this winter) in Hardy was spacious by B&B standards with fluffy dressing gowns, Neal's Yard toiletries and a magic box holding all the things you may have forgotten to pack.

Clive cooks an amazing breakfast with pork from locally ‘pampered pigs’ - he’s getting lots of practice since they took over in June 2010. Use of local produce features highly.

C&L are getting plenty of bookings via recommendations and if you visit Graybank you will see why. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

We were met by Lisa who straight away made us feel welcome and showed us to our bright and airy room - with two large single beds that were sooo comfy! Lots of thoughtful touches such as chocolates, really good and varied toiletries, milk in a fridge, bottled water, dressing gowns ---I could go on. Breakfast in the morning uses local organic produce, alonmgside toasted hiome m,ade bread and is expertly cooked by Clive. These guys work really hard at what they do and they do it brilliantly. They have plans for constant improvement and it will just keep getting better and better - I thouroughly recommend a stay in this beautiful house, in it's gorgeous setting with spectacular views--- and hosted by two very talented and welcoming hosts. We will be back!
