“bad bad service”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

the location is GREAT. Staff is not serviceminded at all.
when I checked out, I was waiting for a reciept - but did not get one. Had to ask for it, and was told to call headoffice to get it. I asked where headoffice was ( just in case it was next door) - staff did not know.
I asked to talk to the manager - and she could not give me a reciept either. It is unheard of.....really.
She said the 2 rooms were paid through my creditcard - and yes, that is true. BUT, I want a reciept so I know WHAT I paid for.
She promised to take care of it and make head offeice send it to my e-mail. 4 days later, it is still not here.
Food was barely ok - had to ask several times for coffee in the morning.
Nice view from my room - great area. Alle the positive fade when you are met with that kind of ignorance.

Just stayed for one night. In a fantastic location 100 yards from Lulworth Cove. Rooms average size for a UK seaside hotel. We had a large bath with a shower over. Room had comfortable King sized bed. Our room was at the front of the hotel and overlooked a duck pond and the grass leading up to the cliff edge. If you looked to the left you could see the Cove and out to sea. This is what you pay for. There is a lovely outside area where you can sit with a coffee beer or a meal and enjoy the view and watch the world go by. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Despite a power cut which affected water and electricity supply the staff still managed to give us a breakfast of cereal and fruit. Staff all pleasant and very helpful.

Surprised about some of the negative reviews on here as we found it very pleasant having stayed two nights there earlier this week. Yes the room was a bit small but as there was only two of us and out most of the day that really didn't bother us. It was clean, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The Dandelion Bistro below was very handy although we only had breakfast there. The staff were pleasant and helpful in all areas despite being there in the middle of the school holidays. You have to park up the road in a separate car park but not really the fault of the hotel at the end of the day its a tiny little village with a narrow street!!.

A great stay at the Mill House it was my birthday treat from my partner Marie, for my 67 birthday.
We had a great room over looking the hills and duck pond, so peaceful just the sort of place to stay to get away from the rat race.
Now the food was great we had the local caught fish and chunky chips and mushy peas.
and I must mention a few people that make our stay possible.
really all the staff, but for out standing service Annette a diamond young lady, it was Annette that decorated my evening dinner table, thank you so much it was a surprise.
And Andrew and the evening dinner service staff made people very welcome.
you would need to book this time of year for the evening meal.
we will be back again, thank you

Stayed for 2 nights Father's day weekend. Fantastic position, very near to the cove. We had the best room which had a very comfortable bed, lovely loungers which faced out of panoramic windows looking out over the sea. Good shower. Breakfast was very good, fresh and well served. The staff were turning away customers who wanted breakfast which we thought odd! We also asked about eating Sunday lunch (on Father's Day) to be told they didn't think they would be opening the restaurant - strange for one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants. Very lack lustre attitude.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea.

Stayed here for one night. The food was very good, the room was comfortable, although it is more of a b&b than a hotel, but that suited me. Food was great, staff were very helpful too. Location is fabulous just 50 yards from the cove

The good things: location is great, short walk to the beach, nice coast paths. Our room (nr 2) had a small terrace with sea view.
The not so good things: very noisy piping system (hard to sleep if your neighbor uses the bathroom), our kids room nr 8 was rather small. Wifi didn't work. The staff was not very friendly and not caring for their guest. Conclusion: ok for a short stay if you can get one of the nicy rooms.
