“Hidden gem of restaurant”
Reviewed 4 July 2013

We stayed in the cottage opposite and decided to have dinner there after a long day out. The food was out of this world the staff were marvellous and very accommodating. After eating out in several places this is certainly the best place to eat in dorset! I can highly recommend the lamb and steaks. Truly a hidden gem.....

We have just spent four nights at the hotel the room was lovely we had one of the smaller ones as we only booked a week in advance, what is so nice they are all individually named and decorated. It was only 10mins walk from Lulworth cove and a short but hilly walk to Durdle Door which was stunning. The food was excellent as was the service the young couple who have taken over the hotel were great and very welcoming we wish them all the best. It was a very busy weekend and hopefully the standards won't drop as they try to accommodate everyone's needs (they had a wedding party to cater for unexpectedly). We shall definitely recommend this Hotel to our friends and hopefully will return ourselves.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the Hotel have a lovely view over the Dorset countryside

Spent 3 nights in this charming house just 10 mins walk from Lulworth Cove. Warm welcome from this experienced young couple whose cheerful and confident manner wins them many friends for this new venture. Comfortable stylish rooms - each one different - plus good quality food using many local items, and a winning team, make for an enjoyable stay.

Gill and Tom

Room Tip: Superior rooms give you just a bit more room around the bed and the suites even more so.

Once you stay at Limestone at Lulworth, you'll never want to leave. The rooms are lovely and your hosts, Edward and Daria, couldn't be more delightful and helpful. Dorset is a hidden gem of England and Limestone at Lulworth is also a gem. Located in Lulworth on the Jurassic Coast, the hotel is within walking distance of both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Even though Limestone is a hotel, Edward and Daria make it feel like a home. A full English breakfast is included in the price of the room and it is a superb breakfast! You won't have to eat again until dinner. And speaking of dinner, eat in the restaurant at Limestone. Every meal we had was perfection. There are daily specials and one night the lobster that I ordered had been caught that morning. Can food get anymore fresh? The chef is creative with his cooking and when he entered the dining room, he got a round of applause from the diners. While there, have a cream tea. Our scones were freshly baked and served warm with mouth watering clotted cream. The views of the village from the hotel are stunning. If you're not sure what to do in the area, just ask Edward. He is full of information and ideas. We will definitely be returning to Limestone at Lulworth. I just wish I could live there!

After taking a look to the weather forecast, my wife and I decided on a Tuesday to spend a romantic weekend in West Lulworth. I soon realized that finding a nice play to stay was not going to be an easy task - most of the best B&B in the area were fully booked. Limestone hotel also was. Luckily for me, after five minutes, the manager called me to offer me a room after other client had cancelled. The room I was offer was very small - the smallest in the hotel, but it didn´t affect the excellent impression that the hotel gave me. To begin with, it is in a location to die for: in a small hill, with some wonderful views of the village. A wonderful spot to spend the early hours of the evening with a good book, a bottle of wine and a good company. Beautiful, beatiful, beatiful sunsets. The service is excellent, the breakfast is very good, and the rooms are extremely clean and well-conditiones. If I had to think about a "but", I´d say that, other than the size of our room, the wifi connection is not very good. But it has nothing to do with the hotel - it was the same in other places in the village. But who needs internet during a nice weekend?

We found that hotel by chance when we were looking for an accomodation at the Dorset coast. The people who are running the hotel are very friendly and supportive. The room have individual designs and the one we had was excellent. The breakfast was very good and you can get everything from a traditional English breakfast to fruit, cereals etc.
Attention should be paid to the restaurant which is highest standard. we had the chance to get dishes from two different chefs during our stay and both diners will be remembered by us in years due to the extraordinary quality.

Room Tip: seaside suite is wonderful
