“It could be so good and wouldn't take a lot”
Reviewed 18 December 2013 via mobile

I stayed at The Lulworth Cove Inn when in the area for a wedding. It's a pretty little place, smelt of fresh paint and in beautiful surroundings. We were in room one, which is very spacious, comfortable and has an amazing shower. There's a roll-top bath in the room, which is amazing, until you remember it is next to the window and opposite is the main entrance and Lulworth Cove Visitor Centre. It's best to close the window blinds. The only downside to the room was it seems to be a Dignitas for dead flies. Even in December. Also, our toiletries were not automatically restocked, which was a bit if a pain.

Where the Lulworth Cove Inn let's itself down is downstairs in the pub/restaurant. I had no issue either the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. My issue was with the hot food. The cooked breakfast was bland and tasted cheap. There is a continental buffet, which was very good which also included hot pastries, which was a nice touch. We had a meal in there on one of the evenings and considering the location and potential of the place, was nothing more than the standard you would expect at a chain pub, such as a JD Wetherspoons. Except in price. It would have been amazing to be offered a fresh fish menu, or gastro pub style cuisine, but it just wasn't offered. It's a shame, as a good menu in a location like this would bring in a lot of year-round trade, in my opinion.

I would stay there again without question, but will be researching other places to eat in the area if I do. If there had been no dead flies, restocking of toiletries and better hot food I would have given this 5/5

We stayed a couple of weeks ago for a relaxing break,we were in Room 3 which was lovely and spacious.Lots of quirky, rustic furniture,a massive bed,a good full length mirror with a plug next to it,a roll topped bath at the end of the bed and a spotlessly clean large shower in the en suite. There was a very good selection of tea/coffee in the room with tasty biscuits which were topped up everyday. The balcony would be amazing in the warmer months to view the lovely Lulworth Cove and have your own private space.
Breakfast was excellent,a vast array of pastries, cereals and fruits followed by great hot choices.
We ate in the restaurant twice at night and once at lunchtime.Everytime the food was very good and I loved the presentation.
All the staff we met were very, very friendly and helpful,we were meant to stay for 3 nights but due to an emergency we had to leave after 2 nights, they only charged us for the 2 nights which was very kind of them.
The situation of the inn is perfect, the walks and scenery are magical!
We loved our stay and will definitely return.
Thankyou Debbie and Dave x

Room Tip: We stayed in a superior room with a balcony - amazing No 3 .

I have just come back from a wonderful stay at Lulworth Cove Inn. The room was beautiful with lots of quirky additions and was very clean and stylish, the en-suite bathroom was lovely as well. Tea & coffee facilities in the room were also great. We had a lovely dinner in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was also excellent, lots of choice & my boyfriend really enjoyed his full English! Location couldn't be more perfect as it is right on the beach and a short but lovely walk from Durdle Door. The staff were very friendly & helpful and I am looking forward to visiting again!
Thank you!!

We had a lovely relaxing stay, our room was so nice with all the extras you could wish for. We really enjoyed our evenings with drinks in the friendly bar followed by a good meal at a reasonable price. Breakfast was so good with a really good choice of hot food & a buffet including unusual jams & honey straight from the hive

The location is perfect, you felt you had access to a very special place to be part of albeit for just a short time!

Room Tip: They are all nice, we didn't have a sea view as such but it was still a great view

We stayed here for 2 nights to get away from it all and were not disappointed. We had a king room with sea view (and balcony) which meant we could enjoy the surroundings even when it was pouring down with rain!
The attention to detail in our room was delightful - the Badger Brewery theme was reflected in the cute badger doorstop and the complimentary pot of Badger Balm on my bedside table. The room was full of homely touches that you just don't find in big hotels, such as a beautiful wool blanket on the bed (it almost looked hand knitted), rustic cushions and seaside-themed trinkets decorating the room and en-suite.
The tea and coffee supplies were fab and re-stocked the next day, as were the bottles of water on our bedside tables.
Everywhere looked freshly decorated and the room was spotlessly clean.
The delicious cooked breakfast was huge and would set you up well for a long day's walking!

We ate in the restaurant both evenings of our stay and really enjoyed the food. There is a huge variety to choose from and everything we ate tasted great.

All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and we received really good service throughout our stay.

All in all an excellent stay and incredibly good value for money. Would thoroughly recommend and we can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Would recommend rooms with a sea view and balcony.

Lulworth Cove Inn is in the very cute little town of
Lulworth cove. It has rooms that have a lot of
character, almost quirky. There is no lift but
it's not so big and is quite easy to navigate.
There is a restaurant and bar on the premises
that features local brews. The breakfast in
the morning is very, very good with a friendly
and helpful staff. West Lulworth gets a lot
of visitors but the area in the proximity of the
hotel is so lovely that you understand the
draw of the area.

Room Tip: If you have heavy luggage, you might want to request a first floor room

Wonderful, seems to have been recently modernised. The bed was large and very comfortable, the room felt like home from home....i'd describe the decor as shabby chic, woodern floors, roll top bath in the bedroom, vintage-esq furnature - lovely. Kettle in room, biscuits and bottled water in room.

Breakfast brilliant, you could have the full works or pastries and cereal or both!

Only negative would be dinner - is wasnt great, the dinner menu sets an expectation of good standard, however, our food came out of a freezer, its wasnt nice...I had fish and chips platter and partner had burger...both were below average. Even the chips were horrid - tasted like they had been cooked in the same oil as the fish!
