A really enjoyable 3 nights at this pub/B&B.
The room was average, but had super views across to the cove. Some bar soap would have been nice, but the tea etc was topped up daily.
It WAS noisey,as we were above the terrace, but it IS a pub so noise is to be expected, and the view compensated (other guests asked to move rooms, but the view wasn't there).
A good range of food is available, with fairly priced drink and excellent, friendly service.
Service at breakfast, however, was poor on all 3 days;toast asked for 3 times coming eventually at the end of the meal, milk requested and never coming at all, dreadful poached eggs (yup,no toast either) and (a) boil in the bag "grilled" kipper.Odd,since the service and food at other meal times was so good.
Also, what appeared to be a residents lounge was locked throughout our stay;strange.
However, overall a super place to stay;really relaxed and relaxing with a lovely casual and welcoming atmosphere. We will return (but without expectations re breakfast).

Inn is in a lovely location and we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of accommodation - Room 19 was on par, if not better, than some of the four star hotel bedrooms we have stayed in! Very spacious, clean, with the added bonus of a balcony and cove-view. OK, so it was overlooking the outside seating area of the pub, but this was not a problem for us, after all it is a pub and one expects to see/hear people enjoying themselves. Bar meals (typical 'pub grub' but varied menu with specials added each day) and the breakfasts were all excellent, served by friendly and professional staff. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay, in a superb location, and yes, it probably does get very busy during the summer months, but surely this is a sign of a good local pub? We can honestly say that Lulworth Cove Inn is one of the better B&B's we have stayed in and could find no fault at all. If you want a traditional pub, a comfortable room, a superb location with wonderful views over the cove, then you will not be disappointed with this Inn. Thank you to all concerned for making our stay a very pleasant experience - we shall definitely be returning. Well done.

The web site maybe makes you expect more so the arrival can be a bit of a disappointment. The rooms are fine but the public areas could do with a bit of tlc, especially some of the doors which could be a pain to open. Given that this is really a pub with rooms they are overpriced for what they are offering. Not many options for food other than the pub itself - 2 meals here were good, and 1 quite bad. The location is great though and hard to argue with.

Thank you for your review.
As it has been pointed out on numerous occasions before. The Lulworth Cove Inn is a pub with rooms, that’s why pubs with rooms are known as Inn's.

The A.A. and Visit Britain have both independently assessed our business and have awarded 3 stars.

We know the rooms are of a high standard as is our food, hospitality and general business offer.

This review is not typical of the many visiting guests.
We always enquire on checkout as to the guests overall stay and are not aware of these issues.

I was fortunate to stay in a room with a balcony (rm18) and lovely view of the cove, and a four poster bed. Sadly the four poster had no drapes which was dissapointing.
The weather was glorious which of course made the experience all the better.
We arrived a little early for check-in which is 2.30pm but after consulting the housekeeping staff we were allowed in.
The room and ensuite were very clean and furnishings in good order.
Usual facilities such as tea/coffee (plentiful), TV (flatscreen), hairdryer (a bit feeble).
We ate in the bar both nights we were there. The lobster thermador was OK but nothing that special. The prawn cocktail on the other hand was delicious and substantial and the desserts got a thumbs up too. If we'd have stayed another night we'd have stuck to just a starter and dessert. The bar was pleasant and had a large terrace, part of which was covered at night and heated.
Breakfast was good and the full english looked well cooked and tasted good too apparently.
The staff were pleasant and friendly.
Cons - Matress had seen better days and was a bit crunchy.
4 poster but no drapes.
Woken very early by cockerels having a crowing competition.
we could have kept the efficient double glazed windows closed but it was warm and we like fresh air.
All in all we had a lovely time and would go back ourselves and recommend it to our family and friends.

We wanted to stopover for a night at Lulworth Cove over Easter and therefore chose the Lulworth Cove Inn primarily on location, for which it is prime real-estate, just a short walk up from the cove itself and with sea views if you get a room out the front.

It is more a pub with rooms, evidenced by check-in at the bar, but our room was clean & today with a good shower and the aforementioned view. The people were friendly and both our evening meal and breakfast were fine. It's a tied pub so it hasd all of the Badger ales, if you like that sort of thing. No parking but you get a free pass upon arrival which lets you park for free in the main tourist car park just over the road.

The website makes it look a bit more upmarket than it is but as long as you take their marketing with a pinch of salt, it's fine for an overnight followed by a walk along the coast the next morning but I wouldn't book in for a week!

We stayed at the Lulworth Cove Inn for my fathers birthday. The two rooms that we had were clean and well stocked with beautiful views. We found the staff to be helpful and knowledgable about the local area.
The food was of a high quality and we enjoyed eating in the bar and also in the restaurant.
Thanks to all for making my fathers birthday a lovely experience!
