“Fast but fun”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We decided to take this boat ride on the spur of the moment, and are glad that we did. The seats are a saddle type affair with a back rest, but were comfortable and easy to stay in once we set off. With a dozen on board the boat still moves at a fair rate but not so fast that one is In any danger, nor did we get wet. It was a shame that the boat didn't slow down for a while at Durdle Door but this is clearly stated in advance. You can charter the boat if you want to go and take pictures. It's a nice way to see the coast and the other side of Durdle door. Well worth the £6 (£4 for children).

“great fun”

Lovely to see our coast line from the sea, stair hole and durdle door look amazing from the reverse view. The rib ride was nice and cooling on a hot sunny day. Great value for money too

“Far too fast”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

The trip lasts about 15 minutes and the cost is £6 for a adult. The rib hurtled along the coast to Durdle Door, and just as I thought we were about to arrive it spun round and raced back to Lulworth Cove without even slackening speed, let alone sIowing down or stopping to let the passengers have a decent look at the arch they had come to see. There was no attempt at any sort of commentary or description of what we were seeing, and indeed it wouls have been impossible to hear anything over the noise of the engine. I had only time to grab one quick photograph of Durdle Door before we shot back along the coast, and there wasn't time to have a proper look at it. It surely wouldn't hurt them to stop for a minute or two at Durdle Door, and it would be a vastly better experience for the customers. I would not do it again, and I could not recommend it to anyone who is interested in seeing Durdle Door. Altogether very disappointing indeed.

“Does not set your hair on fire...”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Not extremely expensive but not massively exciting given when you see the boat ( a jet rib) one imagines very high speed and a lot of fun.
The boat creeps out of the cove due to the speed restriction and then just gets up on the plane and accelerates no more. It then potters along the coast, does a u turn at durdle door and returns. The captain said nothing at all about safety, what we will see, etc and sadly I felt it was just a case of bums on seats. I did not feel much passion for the operation.
Would I recommend it? Well if you are there and fancy a boat trip to see the coast, why not. It's not too expensive and is something different.
Would I do it again? No.
Feedback is a wonderful thing and by introducing a welcome on board brief, installing a speaker system for a commentary and at the very least saying goodbye and thank you would really add to the experience.
