Beautiful place to visit. We stayed in West Lulworth. Lots of holiday cottages to rent. English coast at its best. We loved it

Beach is well clean and has nice views of the famous archway.
Don't think I would walk it though from the main car park as it's a fair way and a bit of a mission.

It is lovely to visit by kayak! The walk down is a bit of a mission as you say but is manageable for most people who are reasonably fit and wearing sensible shoes. Thanks for your report.

Spent a day exploring Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door. The water was pristine and scenery wonderful. The walk down to the beach at Durdle Door is steep at times and the return journey I would imagine would be challenging for some.
Well worth a visit.

Absolutely beautiful, as I remembered it from the 70’s and it had hardly changed at all. Obviously there were a few more shops, cafes and restaurants and the visitors centre was nice but it was just as stunning. I had tried to explain to my wife and 2 friends how lovely it was and it certainly did not disappoint them. Recommended

This is my second visit to Durdle Door. It's an iconic geological feature, and has two lovely shingle beaches and nice sea swimming.

It's a lot of stairs down and quite a climb back up from the beach level, so I'd not recommend for the disabled or very elderly, but well worth a visit if you can manage it.

Parking starts at £4 for two hours, which in my opinion is a rip-off.

Thank Doctor S

Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed you visit so much. You are absolutely correct that one needs to be reasonably fir and able to get down to the beach and Durdle Door. You may be interested to know that the car parks at both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are part of the Lulworth Estate. The money from parking goes towards upkeep of this beautiful area, visitor services (health and safety, facilities, footpath maintenance etc) and our conservation and education programmes. One car park ticket is valid at both car parks.
