Description: Welcome to the Toby Carvery Frimley. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Camberley’s favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including cooked breakfasts and tasty specials.

We looked forward to the re-opening of the Toby and arrived at 08.35hrs to see how all had gone. It was good to see that the pleasant manner of the staff on arrival was what it had always been, excellent. We discussed the new features of the layout, décor and furnishing and was glad to see that the breakfast buffet was more or less the same as normal. back to the makeover though, it was clean, bright and sparse looking like the majority of restaurant you go into for a meal. What was lacking was the quirky ambience of the restaurant that we had become used to, or was it that we did not like change. As stated the staff were great and happily discussed the pro's and con's of the makeover with complete honesty of what they thought and strangely enough it was about 50-50. The breakfast was what we were used to, not that we indulge very often preferring the lunch event, it was hot, well laid out, plenty of choice, for once no black pudding and the fried eggs left a lot to be desired but we spent nearly two hours enjoying all reading our the morning papers, watching the place fill up and become busy. Good to se it re-open, and yes we will continua to use it as the standard is really good as is the service and that combined with the price makes it a must place to visit. We will miss the Quirky nature of the place with all it's pictures and postcards but we will get used to it. We left sated and happy for the modest price of £12, for the two of us.

Nipped in for breakfast, £4 for all you can eat, another £2 for a coffee or tea.

I reckon everything had been cooked for at least an hour before I got there, the eggs were like rubber, the bacon looked unappetising but tasted better than it looked, potato thingy didn't have the potatoes quite done enough so you got an odd hard piece now and again.

If you want quantity over quality eat here.

If you are fussy about your food then give it a swerve.

We arrived here just after 12 for lunch, expecting it to be busy. We walked straight in and was seated straight away in a corner section. The restaurant seemed to be full but the wait for the buffet wasn't long at all. Pork, gammon beef and turkey were on offer. Will they ever do chicken?? The vegetable section was getting topped up and a great variety, suede, sweet corn, peas, carrots, broccoli. We of corse upgraded to a bigger plate for an extra £1.50, the plate is huge!! You get an extra Yorkshire and two sausages. You can get mashed potatoes or roasties, the day we went they were nice and crispy. Great choice and bargain. You even get re-fill drinks on Pepsi and lemonade.

If you dont like carveries, no other choices such as pasta or fish other than salmon. Ate a salad with second choice of beef, the chicken was not available that day. It was eatable but not enjoyed.
breakfasts were okay for £3.99 but spoilt with £1.99 for a tea or coffee. Not many people have the time to sit and drink free refils.

Having stayed at the nearby travel lodge, we walked across the car park to get breakfast. It is of the all you can eat breakfast for £3.99 pp variety.

You get to select as much as you like from a full English self-serve breakfast which is laid out on a vast hot plate and there are plenty of hot drinks.

If you are very hungry you can even go back for seconds.

The food is hot and freshly cooked. Fried eggs can be done to suit your taste (in my case underdone)..

Tables were plentiful and clean, as were chairs and cutlery. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

All in all excellent value.
