Basic but clean with good location for Staines, Camberley, Windsor and Guildford areas. The upstairs rooms tend to be much quieter and most have decent outlook over lake.
Area that they are situated in looks a bit run down could do with some TLC, but plenty of parking available. There is no Wi-Fi unless you go across the lake to main hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for upstairs rooms

We were upgraded to the International from the other hotel on the same Lakeside venue as the were doing some renovation. Don't stop this needs doing as well, seriously tired, décor suffering in the public and private areas. Otherwise an OK place to put your head down. Clean and comfortable. Service was not great especially at breakfast. The receptionist (Lady) took our room number and Tea/Coffee order, the rest was a mediocre self service with tasteless plastic food.
After 15 minutes the (Lady) came by to enquire why we were not having Tea/Coffee.??
Because Dozzie had forgotten to serve it.... Otherwise its a view over a polluted lake.

Room Tip: Wi Fi Difficult to sign in to. Took me 5 attempts and my wife 4 attempts not user friendly but you...

The hotel would be a great 1970's themed hotel (sadly). I stayed here with my wife and eldest son in a family room, it was spacious, beds comfortable and happily the air-conditioning worked. That I'm afraid is the only good thing I have to say about the place. The biggest problem was the staff, we arrived quite late and the elderly blond lady on reception was downright rude and unwelcoming, she insisted I fill out an old fashioned form despite the fact I'd stayed in this hotel twice before on business. Thinking the staff couldn't get any worse I was wrong, when my wife and son went down for breakfast the staff were surly, rude, spoke extremely poor English and were openly annoyed that they went to breakfast around 5 minutes before it ended. They were forced to sit outside as the staff weren't willing to allow them to sit in the restaurant. With terrible service like this and an antiquated hotel I struggle to see how they'll ever stay in business which is such as shame as the location and surroundings are excellent.

The location is great as we were attending the Farnborough Airshow. It is easy to find, the hotel is part of a complex; the International is first left at the entrance. The hotel was fully booked but luckily there was only one person waiting to check in. We had a room overlooking the lake on the ground floor; it was pleasant bright and clean and the window opens.
Positives: tea and coffee, iron and board in the room, free WiFi. A few prickly negatives: no fridge, no shower cap and the shower head is fixed high up, inadequate information in the room even about the free WiFi, One has to sign up for an account and then sign in each time to use.
Breakfast was buffet style, tasty, not really hot enough but they seemed to be understaffed there was only one staff member for the 15 tables in use; another staff member appeared after a period of time, then the first disappeared into the kitchen. It was difficult to get their attention for tea/coffee/milk etc.

We have just come back form a night at this hotel, overall it is very comfortable, we stayed in room 162 which overlooked the car park, it was quiet, well laid out, bathroom looks as though it has just been refurbished, white tiles and black granite, beds very comfortable, crisp, clean white sheets, flat screen television, furniture in good condition, only downfall was the curtains and bed covers, the style looked as thought it was in the 70's or 80's, as is the rest of the hotel, we used the swimming pool, sad to say steam room, sauna, were out of commission, Jacuzzi cold and not switched on, changing room and showers need major refitting, no lockers, communal showers in both male & female. Breakfast was good but not a lot of selection on the cereal/fruit counter. Amazing views over the lake, if you book try to get a room on the 1st floor, odd numbers seem to have the lake view, the hotel is situated on a complex which have shows and events which are only a couple of minutes walk away, so no worry about drinking and driving, the only problem is the whole area needs tiding, grounds etc., and clearing up
This is a very comfortable hotel and even though we have only given it 3 star rating we would go back again, but it need re-decorating to a modern style if so it would be a 4 star at least and attract a lot move visitors

Room Tip: Odd number rooms (159, 163 etc) on first floor have views over the lake

In the area for an event the next day, the Lakeside seemed a good place to chill out. Best part was the room...for three people, so I had plenty of space. Good television, instant coffee & tea and the bed, with two to choose from remember, comfortable.
In the bar with my friends, things got more 'average', only one 'bitter' beer shrouded by lagers, plus some trendy ciders. The seats were in need of replacement and the staff sullen, at times. The other guests seemed equally forgettable too. After a good night's sleep, a real English breakfast set me up well for the day.
The place needs redecoration, general perking up of the staff and generally given some 'character'...even the view of the lake is average.

Room Tip: The second floor has a good view. Beware the southern facing rooms, they get very hot when the Sun...

At the time in April every where else was fully booked and upon sampling this hotel I can understand why this was'nt. Having ample parking we were pleasantly received. Although they have a safe in the room- the patio doors do not lock, they were ' blown' and dirty, definitely need a refurb. As does the interior, a very dark, outdated sombre entrance. I felt miserable sleeping in this dull uninviting atmosphere, having well starched bedding, hard mattress and pillows, alongside antiquated furnishings. The only lifting experience I had was opening the patio doors to see the lake view and take in some fresh air. However, we did enjoy the breakfast, but did not enjoy the Restaurant Manager who was loudly airing his grievance of how the staff didn't lay the tables sufficiently whilst we were eating (there was only three of us were sitting in the room : (). Very over rated and pricey for the small room we got.

Room Tip: Lakeside views are quiet, this was a standard twin small room with ensuite, I would recommend gettin...
