The Right Place in Ishigaki

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Sept 2019
Stayed at Patina for 4 nights, and would definitely love to return!
The hotel is only around 30-min ride from Ishigaki Airport, and around 10-min walk to the souvenir street. Parking is available free of charge, with limited spaces. Please be prepared to leave your car key with the reception.
Room is very clean and well-equipped. 2 big comfortable beds, must be more than standard twin size. Standard Japanese style bathroom, along with a very pretty set of personal care amenities. Balcony is available for hanging clothes to dry.
Breakfast is included which is available from 7am on the first floor. A small but delicious buffet with different choices each day. Next to the breakfast area, tea and coffee area is free to use. Very lovely! You may mix your own tea as you like and take the teapot back to room to enjoy.
Laundry is also free and available on the first floor, though we didn't try it out this time.
One more interesting point of Patina: you get to choose what not to be serviced e.g. bath towels, then you get certain points, which can be used to redeem some souvenirs at the end of your stay! That is really a nice idea!
Thank you all the helpful staff! Highly recommend to all!

Like all other guests, we are impressed by the cozy ambience, friendly staff, delicious free breakfast, free bike use, free parking (which we didn’t use) and the innovative point system to encourage eco use of the rooms. We already plan to return to this hotel next year when we come back to Ishigaki.

We stayed four nights in this small four story hotel with an owner operated vibe. Not for those looking for big hotel amenities. Breakfast that changed every day was appreciated. Our room with twin beds seemed to be a decent size by Japanese standards. Best part was the excellent location on the harbour within walking distance to ferries and the bus depot as well as the downtown core.

I cannot say enough good things about this little gem. Staff are always friendly and helpful, free 24/7 coffee and tea, stable Wi-Fi, free laundry service, free bike rental, free parking, breakfast with local delicacies and some rooms have a balcony with sea view!!

My favourite thing about this hotel is their environmental protection program where you collect points each day for not changing your sheets, getting new towels, etc.. you can exchange your points for small gifts at the counter anytime. This is a great way to help us show our child how to save the environment and receive small rewards for it.

Pretty little hotel. Rooms are not too big, but cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is decent, could have more variety on vegetables and cereal without sugar. Love the coffee machines that are free to use all day. They have bicycles you can use free of charge for six hours. There’s a lovely French bakery across the street and a Family mart close by. We also liked the system of gathering points if you don’t need cleaning or changing towels etc. You can exchange your points to snacks or drinks at the reception. We definitely recommend a day trip to Taketomi island, bring your beach gear with you 🙂

Excellent staff in this cozy little hotel! The twin bed rooms are small but clean. Very comfortable beds with good size. Japanese breakfasts with fresh made juices, delicious almond puddings. Free use of washing machins, bicycles.
A few steps from the centre and harbour. Along the street you find a bakery and a well asssorted fishing shop. And a family mart just around the corner. If there is any rooms free, make a reservation!
