“Coastguard Cottage is still perfect!”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This was our second stay at Coastguard Cottage, everything was perfect again, lovely cottage, cosy, comfy beds, fantastic kitchen, great garden. Everything that you could possibly need is catered for. Our toddler loved it and was very happy playing in the toddler safe enclosed patio area. Our labrador totally enjoyed her stay and loved curling up in front of the log burner in the evenings. The location is fantastic, great amenities in the village, friendly locals, and the beach is simply stunning, huge expanse of white sand, totally unspoilt.
Whether you want a cosy cottage for two, or want somewhere to take the children and the dog, Coastguard Cottage is just perfect. We will definitely be back for another visit soon.

“Fantastic cottage, great owner...”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We've just completed a 1 week stay & loved everything about the cottage and the area. Good quality furnishings, lovely location (so close to the beach) and Richard, the owner went above & beyond on the helpfulness stakes. Would definitely recommend to others.

“Perfect home from home holiday”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Coast Guard Cottage exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, Winterton on Sea is a beautiful Village with lots of friendly locals who are happy to chat. We have never stayed in a place that is so dog friendly - it really is doggy heaven!

The cottage is fab - the owners have thought of everything even planting pots of herbs for you to use. All equipment and furnishings are of high quality and it is obvious there has been no expense spared in the refurbishment. Will definitely return in the future.

We hired a boat for 2days to explore the broads - but in reality we should have saved the money and stayed in the cottage - there is not an awful lot to see on the broads.

The cottage is situated in a delightful village minutes from a spotless beach and nature reserve. We saw a seal on our first day. The cottage is superbly presented, furnished and equipped. Rooms are large, clean and light. The owner is available if required but does not return unless called for. Garden is large and sunny. Dogs are welcome and our Sons 2 dogs had a lovely time. Private parking for 3 cars and space by the nearby village hall if more room is needed.
Winterton is a good base from which to explore all the best that Norfolk has to offer. Not far from Great Yarmouth and Caister but so far removed from the "Kiss me Quick" culture.
We strongly recommend the nearby pub "The Fishermans Return" both for a quick drink or delightful meal. Village has post office, Mace shop and superb Fish and Chip shop well used by the locals.
On the way to Ciaster is a Fish shop "Dabs and Crabs" selling Cromer crabs a much less than the shops in Cromer. They also have a huge range of fresh fish and shell fish. The owner does sea fishing trips which our Son enjoyed.

“So well equipped, and really well presented”
Reviewed 13 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We were really impressed with the size of the garden. Ideal for energetic children, and in the house, there were toys and books for all ages. There were even some games for the garden, a BBQ and equipment in the shed to use at the beach, including a wind-break. The shower is really nice, good pressure and there's a separate bath. The house is well heated for cooler days and the wood burner was fun to use. The kitchen was quite large with a full size fridge freezer and there's quite a bit of storage around the house. The open plan design downstairs worked really well giving a spacious feel. The beach (a short walk away) was quite quiet when we were there, the week following half-term. Quite a few dog walkers, and quite windy, though calmer by the dunes.

Richard the owner is really friendly, was available during the week on the phone if needed, and clearly takes pride in the property.

Reviewed 8 April 2013 for a stay in January 2013

We stayed just after new year, the cottage was very well decorated and equipped with everything you need.
We took along our dog Ollie and it was great location for the beach.
The parking was very handy, park up and enjoy the location. Pub very nice and small shop was handy.
Can recommend the little cafe on the beach.
