Visited here for the first time last weekend. Great location on a hill above the dunes with a short walk down onto the beach. Beach went on for miles with hardly anyone around.
We stayed in a 1 bed round house which for the price was very good value for money. Furniture and decor a bit old fashioned for us and slight damp and mould in a couple of places but everything you needed for a weekend. Didnt use the pub or restaurant but it was very busy in there in the Sunday judging by the car park.
Will definately go back during the summer.

I have just returned from Winterton after having a really great weekend there . All of the huts were booked so we stayed in the 2 bed bungalow , Sunlight.
Location is great , we were right next to car park so not far to carry bags etc. The huts look gorgeous from the outside and make a lovely view with the sea in the distance from the bungalow.

Inside the bungalow was very cosy. Big sofa and two arm chairs , 32 inch tv with small selection of freeview channels. Bathroom with shower over the bath , plenty of hot water, that's four girls showering and washing their hair and it didn't run out ! Kitchen was adequate , small kitchen table and basic utensils , crockery and small wine glasses. Fridge and large freezer compartment.
Small picnic table outside too.

Beds were very comfy . One double and two single. Wardrobe with hangers and shelves. Was very cosy and warm , storage heaters were on and kept the place just right. Saying that it was a warm weekend weather wise !

The bungalow is a minute walk if that from the dunes which lead to the beach. It's then a 5 min walk maybe to the beach. It's a little rugged but if it's too much you can drive through the village and park next to the cafe and then it's a short slide / walk down a sandy slope to the beach .

The beach cafe is great , serves food until 3pm . Great homemade cake selection and they had gluten free also which was delicious apparently ! There is a small shop in the village selling provisions and a chip shop. The pub , The Fisherman's Return serves amazing food and has an extensive menu considering the size of the place. You have to get there early for a table , about 5-6 pm. We did not eat on the bungalow site but heard good things about the food there.

We asked for a late checkout of 11am. Very friendly lady behind reception.

The things we forgot / would take next time were : Bath mat as mat in bathroom for floor was a bit old. Washing - up liquid , hand soap for bathroom / kitchen. You are told to take towels and tea towels which we remembered !

We are already planning out next trip. It's very reasonably priced , quiet , lots of fresh air and the perfect relaxing break. We had a quick peek in one of the huts and they also look really fab , the fact they were fully booked has to be a good sign !

Having stayed once before and looking for a last minute break, we booked one of the roundhouses at Hermanus.

The location of the roundhouses are great with a literally 30 second stroll down to the beach. Facilities are generally good with some amusements, the bar, a brilliant restaurant (try the carvery!) and a very good pub nearby (Fishermans Retreat). Staff throughout are very friendly.

The thing which lets the roundhouses down is they are feeling a bit tired inside. If they had a bit of a refurb (including new beds) then this would be a truly outstanding holiday.

Room Tip: Beach view is always an added bonus!
